“Here is Isaac trying to accomplish the opposite of God's will by blessing Esau, inadvertently doing exactly God's will by blessing Jacob. God'll do it. He'll do it. God'll do exactly what he is determined to do, and no amount of trickery or deception can prevent God's will from being accomplished. He can accomplish his sovereign purpose even in the middle of human dysfunction.”

“Because what this means, my friends, is that we don't have to stand before God pretending to be something that we're not. We don't have to pose and be, you know, put on masks and put on a front before God to try to earn God's acceptance. Jesus has done it all for us once and for all. All we need to do as people of God is stand secure having accepted Christ's righteousness on our behalf. In exchange for my filthy rags, y'all, I received the righteousness of Jesus Christ as an offer and as a free gift.”

#GodsSovereignty
“Now that doesn't mean that we should look for ways to follow our own agendas and our own plans and expect that God had just simply clean up the mess. No. God's sovereignty is never an excuse for our disobedience. It just simply means that if we happen to make that mistake, God's grace is greater. And he can take what we have sometimes selfishly pursued for our own selves and weave it into the tapestry of his masterful plan so that in the end we can take a step and look back and say, but God, had it not been for the Lord.”
