Day 1: God Is Enthroned and Sovereign Over All

In the midst of chaos, uncertainty, and the pressures of life, there is a throne in heaven with One seated upon it—God Himself. This vision, given to John in Revelation 4, is a powerful reminder that no matter how out of control our world or our lives may feel, God remains sovereign, reigning with authority and purpose. The repeated mention of the throne emphasizes that God is not distant or passive; He is actively ruling, surrounded by beauty, power, and victory. When everything else seems unstable, you can anchor your heart in the truth that God is on His throne, fully in control, and nothing escapes His notice or power. [51:26]

Revelation 4:1-6 (ESV)
After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne. And he who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald. Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments, with golden crowns on their heads. God searches deeper than outward appearances—He looks into your heart, longing for authenticity and devotion. When you come before Him, let your worship be more than words or melodies; let it be the cry of your heart that says, “It’s all about You, Jesus.” [34:00]

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Day 3: God Is Holy, Powerful, and Eternal

The vision of heaven resounds with the ceaseless praise of angels declaring, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come.” God is utterly set apart, completely different from us—He never tires, never sins, and never loses control. He is all-powerful, holding the past, present, and future in His hands. This holy, powerful, and eternal God is worthy of all honor and awe, and His unchanging nature is the foundation for your faith and hope, no matter what you face. [01:07:17]

He alone is worthy, not just of our praise, but of our very lives. “A long time ago, somehow the word worship became synonymous with music, and it's a wonderful expression of our worship to the Lord. But worship has less to do with the melodies and the chords and more with a heart posture, a posture of humility, understanding where we end and where he begins.”

And so, yeah, we are people who feel pressured and tired and overwhelmed. Now, at the end of the very first century, we're in the 21st century, so going back around 2,000 years.”

“Christianity is growing, but the Roman Empire is oppressing the Christians. They are feeling pressured and overwhelmed. Sin was causing havoc in the world. And this man named John, he's sent exiled to this island of Patmas. They hope he's going to die there for proclaiming Jesus.”

“God gave a revelation to John to give to the churches at the time who were feeling pressured. They were feeling tired. They were overwhelmed by the world with sin. Let me review real quickly before we get to chapter 4. In chapter 1, I'd like you to go back there real quickly.”

“Blessed, we considered verse three. Some of you have been putting this to memory. Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy. Prophecy meaning it's from God. its revealed truth from God. Blessed are those who hear it. Blessed are those who keep what is written in it. For the time is near.”

“And so when we see this word throne mentioned over and over, it means that God has sovereignty. It means that he's in control. And this is good news for us who we look around and say, "The world's in chaos. My life's in chaos. My heart sometimes in chaos. And yet, we're going to remember today that my God is still in control.”

“But for people who sit there and think life is a mess. My life's a mess. Wait a second. You need to know that God is enthroned and he is in control. It may not feel like much is in control. You're not in control. I'm not in control, but God is still in control.”

“So John is taken up to heaven. He sees a throne. And this is God the Father on the throne. And so this is some more revealing. The curtains getting pulled back so that we can see more the revealing of God specifically in his throne room.”

“And the king who is in control of everything that matters to you today, he is glorious. Let's go back to verse eight. Verse eight. And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings are full of eyes all around them and within. And day and night they never cease to say, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God”

“Let's write this down. Yes, God is holy. And here's what it means. Means he's so set apart and he's so different. So different from you and me. We feel pressured. We get tired. We get overwhelmed. Not God. He's different from us in that way.”

“The powerful God is in control of our world right now. He's the powerful God is in control of your life right now. Go back to verse eight one more time. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty. And here's another triad who was and is and is to come.”

“And the angels day and night, they just say, "Here's who he is. The eternal God. The one who's got everything from the beginning to the end in his hand. He's in control of your life. He's in control of our government. He's in control of our world. He's in control of our planet, our solar system, our everything and your heart.”

“And so in a chaotic world, Scott Miller has to remember God is in control. In a chaotic world, you have to remember that God is in control. He's on his throne. So, what do I do with that? I I thought of two words. I'm going to look forward in faith and hope.”
