God's Relentless Love: A Call to Repentance
Summary
In reflecting on the parable of the vineyard, we are reminded of God's relentless love and provision for humanity. The vineyard owner, who represents God, did everything possible to ensure the vineyard's success, yet it yielded only wild grapes. This mirrors humanity's response to God's abundant grace and provision. God created a perfect environment for humanity, walked with them, and even after the fall, continued to offer redemption and salvation. Despite humanity's rebellion, God did not abandon them but instead promised a way of deliverance through the seed of the woman, ultimately fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
God's kindness and providence are evident throughout history, as He provides for both the just and the unjust, demonstrating His patience and mercy. The nation of Israel serves as a testament to God's longsuffering nature, as He repeatedly forgave and restored them despite their continual rebellion. This patience culminates in the ultimate act of love: God sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to live among us, bear our sins, and offer us salvation through His death and resurrection.
The message is clear: God has done everything possible for our salvation. The rejection of this divine offer leaves humanity without excuse. The consequences of rejecting God's law and salvation are dire, leading to a world devoid of His blessings and protection. The moral decay and suffering we witness are a result of humanity's choice to live apart from God.
Yet, there is hope. The call is to recognize the irrationality of sin, repent, and turn to God in faith. The day of grace is still upon us, and the gate of salvation remains open. By acknowledging our need for God and accepting the sacrifice of Jesus, we can find forgiveness, new life, and eternal salvation. Let us not delay in responding to this profound invitation.

Quotes
"note what could have been done more to my Vineyard that I have not done unto it here's the man who bought that wonderful plot of ground that fruitful Hill took out the stones fenced it protected it planted the choicest vine in it and gets nothing but wild grapes and he looks on and he appeals to the reason of the whole of the UN Lookers and he says what could have been done more to my Vineyard that I have not done unto it tell me he says in all reason can you convict me of having failed to do anything haven't I done everything that can be done for its welfare and its well-being is there anything what more could I have done and the answer is nothing at all which leads me to say that men in sin and in his present shame is utterly inexcusable why well for this reason what more could God have done for men than he's done you see the Bible is the record of what God has done for men and he's here tonight speaking through this great book to every one of us and says what more could I have done that I have not done for men he made him perfect he gave him a perfect environment he came down and dwelt with him he communed with him he blessed him he gave him everything he needed what more could he have given him as a start but not only at the beginning he has continued to do so even when men in his folly rebelled against God and listened to the devil and sinned and fell and brought down the chaos upon himself self God didn't blot him out God didn't say very well you've done this and I finished no no even when men had rebelled and had spat as it were into the face of God God came down and they heard the voice of the Lord God In the Garden in the cool of the evening God came down and visited them and when he spoke to them he didn't merely reprehend them he gave the men and the woman a most glorious promise he said though you've done this and though you brought all this down upon yourselves I nevertheless promise you that the seed of the woman shall bruise the Serpent's head he promises a way of Deliverance and of Salvation though you've done this Isa if you'll accept it I'll deliver you the promise of Salvation read the great story of the Old Testament and then go on to the new and this is what you'll find in the old God's kindness to men in Providence he maketh his sunrise and the evil and the good and sendeth his Reign upon the just and the unjust God's kindness in Providence to us all he's given you life he's given you health and strength he's given you food clothing you know if God were to withdraw his Providence everything would collapse we'd all be stared with all be un CL God keeps us going though we are Rebels against him his kindly Providence he's gone out of his way to instruct us through his holy law he's concerned about men even though men has fallen and has disobeyed he gives him instruction in his law and then the most astounding thing of all God's patience and loving kindness he raised up this nation of Israel and through them he speaks and has spoken to the whole world look at his patience with them they go against him and then they get into trouble and then they turn back to him and God receives them most of us would have blasted them to nothing but God against whom they' so rebelled he says all right I'll forgive you and he showers his love upon then they go back and do it again and back they come cringing in Repentance and God again receives them back and he goes on doing it and doing it he is longsuffering his patience his mercy and his compassion look at it in the case of the whole nation look at it in the case of some of the great leaders of the nation who went wrong and came back what more could God have done for the nation of Israel and then think of the warnings that he's given us man in his cleverness is tempted to say but I didn't know how could I know if only I had had some instruction if only had had some warning I didn't I was a kind of pioneer it's a lie my friend you're filled with warnings the Bible's full of them that God told man before he ever fell that if he did he'd suffer he was warned before he fell he's been warned ever since God has warned the human race he's warned them not only in words he's warned them by allowing things to happen to them and still mankind goes on what more could God have done but oh oh what am I speaking about what more could I have done as God in this picture what more God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son God's concern for this world and its people was so great that when the fullness of the times had come he sent forth his own son made of a woman made under the law he'd sent servants he'd sent prophets he'd sent instructors he says I'm going to do the biggest thing that I can do I can't do anything beyond this I'll send my own son amongst them and he did the Son of God was born as the babe of Bethlehem he became men and flesh and lived in this world and heard the contradiction of Sinners against himself shared the life of ordinary men and women and then finally took the Lord of their sins upon himself and was smitten for their transgressions and gave his life for their Deliverance what more could God have done he's emptied his own Heart of Love he has sent his only begotten dearly beloved Son and has made him to be sin for us who knew no sin I ask you in the name of all that is reasonable what more could God have done he's given his only begotten son even unto death the cruel death and shame of the Cross and pointing to that cross he says to you and to the whole world tonight believe on my son and I will forgive you all your sins I will blot them out as a thick Cloud I will reconcile you unto myself I will give you a new nature a new start a new birth I'll put my Holy Spirit into you I'll perfect you and eventually I'll receive you unto myself in the glory Everlasting I'll do it all for nothing you just believe in my son what more could even God have done that's his own question what could have been done more to my Vineyard that I have not done in it he's done everything there is nothing more that God can do than he's done in his only begotten son I say that men is utterly inexcusable it's not you was telling me about about your weakness it's no use telling me about the depth of your sin it's no use telling me about the power of evil in the world I know all about it but I tell you that God's salvation is more powerful and you are as you are simply because you don't believe it you reject it God's done everything that's necessary you have no excuse and so you see because of this utter in excus ability of men who not only has broken God's Own holy laws but was beyond it rejected God's Great and gracious offer of a free salvation there is only one thing left and that is God's judgment upon rebellious foolish men who rejects the offer of so great a Salvation listen to the terrible words go too now I will tell you what I will do to my Vineyard I will take away the Hedge thereof and it shall be eaten up and break down the wall thereof and it shall be trotten down and I will lay it waste and it shall not be pruned nor digged but there shall come up Briars and Thorns I will also commend the clouds that they rain no more upon it let me interpret that very briefly to you this is what happens because the world has rejected God's law and rejected his son and and the free and full salvation God withholds His blessings and your world and mine is as it is tonight because God is withholding his Blessing from it he is withholding the clouds that they rain no more upon the Earth do you expect to be blessed of God when you refuse his law and reject his offer of Love In Christ well if you do you're mad and our world is as it is tonight because God's withholding his Blessing from it it has no right to it but he doesn't stop at that he withholds his protection and his restraints I will take away the Hedge thereof and it shall be eaten up and break down the wall thereof and it shall be trotten down you see in this world we are surrounded by evil forces and spirits and it is God alone who is more powerful than them and can hold them back and protect us you reject God in they come and they're coming in as a flood tonight all the enemies of men are attacking with a mighty and a terrible Force the forces of evil and sin and uncleanness and suggestion and foulness the restraints of religion have gone the Restraint of the holy spirit is withdrawn and they're coming in as a flood and our moral muddle is increasing from weak to weak God has withheld his protection because men said he didn't need it but God even goes beyond that he says I will lay it waste I will make it a desolation which I interpret as meaning this that God will not allow men to succeed and to be happy in this world while he remains in a state of rebellion and of rejection of his holy law and of his great salvation God will not allow it to succeed there is no peace say my God to the wicked so you see in our 20th century with our wealth and sophistication and learning and Science and knowledge it's a living hell why God will not allow it to succeed he'll make a desolation of it and he's doing so before our eyes and the result of this is that Briars and Thorns come up in the vineyard IAI life wasn't meant to be like this it was meant to be like a glorious Vineyard but what we see are thorns and briers and all the horror of it all tonight the Suffering The Pain the anguish the Briars and the Thorns that are ruining life there that's a picture of your modern world the hym writer has put it all in one verse pride of men and Earthly Glory sword and Crown betray his trust what with care and toil he builth Tower and Temple fall to dust the kingdoms of this world are passing away and the lust thereof Tower and Temple fall to dust but God's power hour by hour is my temple and my tower well there my friends I've taken you through the poem that's what God is saying to the world tonight what's the end of all this here's the message there is only one hope for men individually there is only one hope for men collectively it is to realize the irrationality and the in excus ability of sin and to go to God in penitence and in Contrition and acknowledge it and confess it and say to him I see un all wrong I was wrong about myself I was wrong about men I see that I've been made by thee and a meant for thee and that I cannot live without Thee I see I'm a fool I see I'm mad God have mercy upon me repent go to him and confess it and say it unto him and then go on and say I've heard your question you've said what more could I have done than to send my only begotten dearly beloved Son and I reply oh God thou couldst do no more thou has done everything in him I humble myself before the I believe in him I come to thee Just As I Am Without One Plea but that thy blood was shed for me and that thou bidst me come to thee Oh Lamb of God I come go to him and tell him that there's no more that he could have done but that that is enough that there you see there is forgiveness and life a new and salvation Eternal repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ it's not too late the day of Grace thank God is still here how much longer I don't know I'm not going to be foolish enough to prophesy but doesn't it seem as if the whole world is preparing for some ultimate cataclysm some awful ending it hasn't come yet the day of Grace is still with us the Gate of Salvation is still open if you've seen this truth acknowledge it to God enter in through the gate of Salvation and God will be waiting and ready and willing to receive you to Pardon all your sins to apply the blood of Christ to you and to make you a new man and to give you an inheritance of among all his children in the glory everlasting God give us Grace to understand this great Central message of the Bible and to give proof that we have understood it by repenting toward God and beginning to exercise faith in the Lord Jesus Christ amen" [00:38:04]
