55s
“``In other words, just because you call it a divorce doesn't make it a divorce. In the same way, this is relevant for 2026, just because you call it a marriage doesn't make it a marriage. A marriage is what God defines as a marriage, not man. It is God's design, and therefore, it is God's definition. So notice, Jesus' aim isn't to give the legal loopholes for divorce. What's his aim? To elevate God's high view of marriage.”
49s
“``That God created marriage, and it exists to serve as a picture of Jesus' unbreakable promise to his bride. That's why divorce is such an enemy for the Christian, because it tells a lie to the world about the gospel, and it says that Christ's love isn't everlasting, Christ's love isn't unbreakable when that's exactly what it is. Jesus never abandons his bride and that's what our marriages are intended to point to brothers and sisters.”
70s
“``So beloved, I just want you to notice here some very foundational truths Jesus gives about marriage. Here's the first truth, that marriage is God's good design. He invented it, he came up with it, it is from the beginning, and marriage is also his doing. It's not the pastor officiating the wedding, it's not the state who hands you the license, what God has joined together and therefore, God is the one who gets to define it. Not me, not you, not the supreme court, God gets to define marriage. And here's how he defines it. He says that marriage, by his design, is meant to be between one man and one woman for life.”
57s
“``The two become one. There's no such thing as a same sex marriage. He made them male and female, and because God created it, he gets to define it, and he says, marriage is between one man and one woman for life till death do us part. Marriage is intended to be this binding, unbreakable, unending covenant. A man will leave his father and mother, hold fast, the Hebrew word literally means glued, cemented, because they're one. He's holding on to her, she's holding on to him for life, because they're one.”
