This is evidence namely the suffering the afflictions the persecution that you are enduring and your faith is a steadfast in this persecution and affliction is evidence of the righteous Judgment of God because its purpose now of God's decision to deal with his precious people in this way is that you may be considered Worthy of the kingdom of God. [00:22:41]

God considers it just to do two things: one, repay with Affliction those who afflict you, and to give relief or repay relief with us to you who are afflicted. Father, I pray that as we try to understand Paul's argument here for the rightness and the justice of the suffering brought upon his precious children for the sake of fitting then for the kingdom. [00:31:27]

If those who are causing this suffering go on indefinitely doing their evil this is evil to persecute Christians is evil if they get away with that evil God is Not Just that's the argument. This is a just judgment to handle reality in this way to ordain that Sinners sin against the church by persecuting the church is just and righteous because God considers it just to repay Affliction on those who have licked you. [00:38:50]

The first reason that this judgment is righteous is because the Christians are made worthy they are made righteous they are made holy not perfect just the Holiness without which no one will see the Lord is being worked in them and their faith is being confirmed by this suffering so righteousness he has a good cause in making the church righteous. [00:49:50]

If this suffering or the persecution or Affliction that was referred to in verse 4 went on indefinitely forever and ever and ever God would not be righteous why not he must give relief in order to be righteous in his judgment why we don't deserve it we don't deserve anything from God we're sinners what we need is Mercy. [01:04:39]

Paul says it's a just thing that God is doing and he he supports it by saying relief is coming to the Christians it's coming relief is coming and that is an argument for why this is right and good and just how can that be I'm going to give two answers the first is right here in the context namely the purpose of the use of suffering. [01:08:35]

If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness I don't know if you've thought about this before he's not just merciful in saving us by the blood of Jesus once the blood of Jesus is poured out and we are in Christ it is just for him to forgive us not just merciful. [01:23:06]

God put Christ forward as a propitiation by his blood so our sin is Forgiven and God's Wrath is removed by the death of Christ the blood of Christ this was to show God's justice same word righteousness because in his Divine forbearance he passed over former sins it was to show his Justice his righteousness at the present time. [01:32:38]

If you have faith in Jesus then you are grafted into Christ and Christ has paid your penalty and that penalty to be exacted from you would be unjust and if you are willing to be in Christ by faith then you are Justified and God is just not just merciful but just in justifying you so when he says it is a righteous judgment here. [01:39:58]

Relief is coming to The Afflicted that relief is part of the Justice or the righteousness of this judgment or the argument for its righteousness because that relief is first guaranteed by this purpose and God always fulfills his purpose otherwise he would be unjust and second because these are people for whom Christ has died. [01:45:42]

If God never brought them relief but saw to it that their sins landed on them in misery forever he would be unjust because he would be exacting from them the punishment that Christ has already paid. [01:51:11]

The purpose of the use of suffering as a righteous judgment to fit the Christians for heaven the purpose is a saving purpose if this relief Never Comes This purpose fails if a purpose fails God's Not Just does that make sense this relief has to come because he's committed himself to this purpose in this judgment namely fitting them for the kingdom of God.
