“``Friends, fable is, in essence, what God, through the Lord Jesus Christ, has done for us. The second person of the godhead, our Lord Jesus Christ, has stepped out of heaven to take the punishment that we deserve. And so, friends, when you breathe your last breath and step into eternity, there there is basically one of two ways it can go. Either can take the take your chances, if you will, and take the lashes, the punishment for your sin upon yourself, and spend eternity separated from god in eternal, everlasting hell. you can let him cover you like that king with the wonderful love of the lord Jesus Christ. You can let your sin be paid on the cross by turning from your sin and putting your faith and trust in him. God offers that free gift to all who will turn and believe.”

#FatherWithOpenArms
“``He does not relish in bringing punishment. He does not relish in judging. He's not sitting back and waiting for an opportunity to bring down the gavel. No. In fact, friends, it is quite the opposite. God is actually very loving and patient and long-suffering. And let me say this, he desires to save us. The picture of God is the picture of the the not not the prodigal son, but the prodigal son's father. Right? He's standing there with his arms wide open, waiting for us to come to our senses and turn from our sin and come back to him.”

#GodGrievesForUs
“``God is sad because he has to bring destruction on them. Friends, god doesn't relish in the destruction of the wicked. God's heart is broken because Moab trusted in other gods. God's heart is broken because Moab trusted in themselves instead of in him. His heart is broken because they were prideful and arrogant and refused to turn from their sin to him. God knows that he is the only one that can satisfy our longing souls. Amen?”

#RepentAndReturn
“``How do we understand god's judgment? First of all, we deserve god's judgment because we've all sinned against him. Amen? Moab sinned grievously against gods. We have as well. The second way we understand that is by understanding that god grieves over having to punish anyone. But the third way we understand god's judgment is this, friends, and that is that god is just in his judgment. He is righteous. is right in his judgment. Therefore, unless you repent and turn to turn back to him, there will be no escape.”

#GodWillRestore
“``We looked at this last time, but the very last verse God says about Moab as he talks about the judgment ends here. He says, yet I will restore the fortunes of Moab in the last days. As we talked about last time, God is going to save some from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation, including Moab. Amen? Friends, God desires to save. He grieves over having to punish anyone. So the lesson for us is the same lesson that Moab should have gotten in all these other nations is simply this, turn, repent, turn to the lord, and live. Amen? Amen. Turn to the lord and live.”

#HumbleYourHeart
“``Friends, as we think about this, at the center sin and rebellion against God is this, It is a prideful, arrogant, haughty, self centered heart. A heart that thinks it knows what is best. A heart that thinks it knows the right way to go. A heart that thinks it knows the best way to live. The that it's got everything figured out that it doesn't need god. And, friends, unless your heart learns the error of its ways and the fallacy of its thinking and comes to its senses, it will experience not only the discipline of god, but the judgment of god also.”

#WorshipOnlyGod
“``Friends, here's the here's the deal with that. There is nothing I believe God hates more than people giving tribute and worship to false gods and false idols that belong to him and him alone. Amen? He is the one true God and creator of all things. He created us. He has put us here. He's given us such a wonderful world to live in. What a slap in the face it is when we refuse to acknowledge him as god and refuse to worship him and worship all sorts of other things instead. Amen? So anytime we put something else in front of god, whether it's a a literal false god or whether it's success or pleasure or a sport or even a person or even ourselves, friends, or whether it's some idea of who we want god to be. Anytime we do that, friends, it is a great front against the righteous, holy god that he is.”

“``But before the first blow could fall, the king stood up from his throne. He took off his royal crown and laid it aside. He unclasped his heavy purple robe and let it fall to the floor. Stepping down from his platform, he walked over directly to the whipping post and then proceeded to wrap his broad strong oar arms around his frail elderly mother, completely shielding her body with his own. He then looked up at the executioner, his back exposed to him, and said, you may proceed now. The penalty must be paid.”
