43s
“Yet because of the fall, many of us worship our work in that we make it our identity. We also make it our security. But work is a terrible god, isn't it? Only Christ is a good god. He's the one you can depend on. He's the one who's taken care of your ultimate problem, sin and death. It's not a lack of money, your ultimate problem. It's not a lack of money, your status, but sin and death. He's taken care of that one. He died to reconcile you to God. And if he took care of that, won't he take care of your day to day needs? Even as you work faithfully,”
42s
“We have a higher calling than that job. Our calling in that job is to make Christ known. Now, don't hear me saying you need to start beating people over the head with the bible at work. But you don't have to. Love them. Work the right way. Work. Show them who you are as you work. Just care for them. And those doors will open. And when they open, don't slam them shut. Go through it. Trust the Lord with that. And even if you do lose your job, don't you think that the God who saved you can give you another job?”
35s
“We were once completely bankrupt before God, weren't we? Sinners in need of a savior, justly under the wrath of God. And and what did God do? He gave. He gave his son. And and now, through our work, we have the opportunity to imitate him, to work hard, to earn so that we can take what we earn, not to improve our standard of living, but to improve our standard of giving and helping others.”
