#ForgedWarrior
“Men were called to be warriors, not only in the traditional sense of army, navy, air force, marines, but in stepping into the things that God has called us to, rising to life's challenges. But first, he presses us. First, he molds us. First, he puts us in the fire and forges us. And the thing that I don't want you to miss is the difficulties of life is God forging you. Don't just pray that they end. In the midst of it, ask those questions. Why did I react like that? In the midst of that, realize what tools is he putting in your godly man belt so you know to pull on those things. A proven warrior.”

#GodlyInfluence
“Sometimes I don't think the question is, do you trust God? I think the question is, does God trust you? And so here's the faithful follower. Here's the loving leader. Here's the proven warrior. the day that we're living in, our families, the wonderful city of Pittsburgh, need you to step up to be the godly man you're called to be. What is it that's hindering you today from being that guy that where you go, people just kinda realize when I brush up against their lives, it's like I get this little taste of what God may look like because you've been baking in the character of God, so it's leaking out of your life.”

#TestedFaith
“Be sure this story has nothing to do with God desiring to hurt or kill a child. It has nothing to do with that. It has everything to see. Abraham, are you willing to put the promise on the altar because you love me more? God tested it. He tested his obedience. Tested to see, are you gonna walk in the fear of the Lord? And and it's interesting to me that this is what comes down from heaven. Now I know that you fear God. There's no intention to hurt this child at all. It's God just testing to see where Abraham is at. He was forging him so he could trust him.”

#LovingLeader
“And by saying this, I'm not think don't think Braveheart, where you paint your face blue and scream freedom. That's not what I'm talking about. The opposite of passivity is responsibility. Not more than you should have, just what God's asked you to carry. Being a loving leader means that you're loving, laying down your life for others. One of the definitions of of love I learned is it's choosing someone else's highest good. Choosing it. Not just because I feel it or not, but choosing someone else's highest good. And then you got the leader part, where it's stepping up and into where God's asked you to lead.”

#RejectPassivity
“Passivity is one of the greatest strongholds I've run into with men that hinders them from being godly men, godly husbands, godly dads, and fulfilling the purposes of God in their life. Passivity. What does it look like? It's when we abdicate our God given responsibility and role, and we let someone else do it. Guys, sometimes on the job, we're the man. We have the knowledge. We have the position. We have the responsibility, and we get it done. But then sometimes when we can come home, we lay aside that kind of responsibility and we delegate it to everybody else.”

#StayInTheFight
“No matter what circumstances come your way, God is after drawing you to himself, building more of his character in you, or preparing for your call. So pay attention in the midst of the challenges because oftentimes we, as a culture, just get me out of this. And I wanna say to you, to be a proven warrior, God has to take you through things where your eyes are still on him, trusting his character. And then you become the man of God that God's called you to be. Regardless of our age, we're called to be spiritual fathers. So as I close, let me just say this. Guys, life can be hard, can be challenging, unrelenting, and full of self sacrifice. And today, we honor you for staying in the fight.”

#KnowGodsCharacter
“God wants to build things in your heart as you learn to trust him. I don't have my bible here. I got my iPad with me today. But if I were to show it to you, I've highlighted every name, title, and attribute of God's character in my bible with a with a colored pencil so that when I open my bible, his character screams at me. And I'm reminded who it is that I'm worshiping, who it is that I'm serving. And I wanna encourage you today, dads, fathers, to get to know God's character because the things he wants to call you into is gonna require you being able to stand in who he is. That builds a faith filled follower of Jesus.”

#ProvenInAdversity
“Proven warriors, which means you have to be in the fight and God's forging you to be that person that can stand in the midst of adversity. That you can be that man that can stand faithfully for God when everything else is collapsing around you. What about Joshua? Joshua had to deal with things like the Wall Of Jericho. How in the world is this gonna happen, God? What about Moses leading tons of people out of Egypt? What about David, a little shepherd boy that goes out and delivers some food that dad said to go take to the front lines, and there's some big guy yapping about Israel, and David steps up in that moment.”
