Day 1: The Playbook by the River

When life feels chaotic, God’s Word offers roots deeper than circumstance. Like a tree planted by rivers of water, those who meditate on Scripture draw nourishment that outlasts drought. This isn’t about memorizing rules but anchoring to a source of wisdom that reshapes decisions, relationships, and purpose. Success here isn’t worldly achievement but resilience, fruitfulness, and alignment with God’s design. The Bible isn’t a footnote to life—it’s the playbook for thriving in every season. [38:10]

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.

Day 2: Wrestling with "Who’s Greatest?"

Human ambition craves recognition, but Jesus flips the script. The disciples argued over status while Jesus spoke of sacrifice. True greatness, he taught, isn’t climbing ladders but kneeling to serve. This tension still exists: our culture shouts “be first,” while Christ whispers “be last.” Surrendering the need to prove ourselves unlocks freedom to love without agenda. [40:18]

Abiding in His Word isn’t religious duty but daily immersion in reality that shatters shame, addiction, and false identities. Discipleship isn’t about perfection but pressing into the One who names us “free.” [51:57]

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Day 5: Disciple-Making Dust

The answer to societal brokenness isn’t louder arguments but quieter obedience. Jesus’ final command—make disciples—is our mission. This isn’t about programs but walking with others toward freedom. Every conversation, act of love, and moment of integrity sows seeds of God’s kingdom in a world starved for meaning. [48:09]

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.

Sermon Summary

Worship rises as a holy challenge when the devil dares God’s people to get quiet. The declaration “there’s only one name” clears the air, because worship gets weak when the heart is not sure that God is God. The gospel refuses the old lie that everybody has their own god and it is all good, because humanity has been making up gods and worshiping idols ever since the garden. God once “winked at” that ignorance, but now commands everybody everywhere to repent, because God wants everybody everywhere blessed.

God stands as the only source who can bless people, families, and nations. Jesus comes as the Son sent into the world so every color, every language, every person can get in on the blessing of God. The name of Jesus stands alone, with nobody around him, nobody near him, nobody beside him. Salvation comes only by believing in the heart that God raised him from the dead and confessing with the mouth that Jesus is Lord.

The Bible comes forward as God’s playbook for success in life. Psalm 1 says the blessed person does not walk in ungodly counsel, but delights in the law of the Lord and becomes like a tree planted by rivers of water. The playbook gives wisdom for homes, marriages, children, business, and every place where life has to be built. God has not left his people guessing.

God is the source of meaning, understanding, purpose, reasoning, wisdom, and peace. The world asks what everything means and runs to opinions, culture, family, neighbors, and the internet. Jesus as Lord becomes the one who gives meaning to what is going on. America’s love for “my own way” becomes part of the unbelief that keeps people from surrendering to God’s way.

Proverbs and Hosea explain the brokenness of the land: when the wicked multiply, transgression increases, and where there is no truth, mercy, or knowledge of God, restraint breaks down. God’s answer is not first another human idea, but the Great Commission. Jesus says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,” teaching them to obey everything he commanded.

Discipleship is for imperfect people following Jesus into freedom, power, and fruitfulness. John 8 says abiding in his word makes true disciples, and the truth makes them free. Mark 9 shows the disciples missing God’s plan because they are still thinking about who will be greatest. Jesus corrects human greatness by pointing to servanthood and receiving the child, showing that God’s way changes the world through humble obedience.
