There are moments in life when you may feel invisible, unappreciated, or even less than human—like your struggles and pain go unnoticed by everyone around you. Yet, just as Jesus saw the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15, He sees you in your moments of feeling overlooked. No matter your background, status, or what others may say about you, God recognizes your worth and cares deeply for you. When the world turns away, Jesus turns toward you, affirming your value and inviting you to bring your burdens to Him. [15:54]
Matthew 15:21-23 (ESV)
And Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.” But he did not answer her a word. And his disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away, for she is crying out after us.”
Reflection: Who in your life might be feeling overlooked or undervalued today, and how can you intentionally show them the love and attention of Christ?
When hope seems lost and prayers appear to go unanswered, it can be tempting to give up or believe that God is ignoring you. The Canaanite woman’s story reminds us that even when Jesus seemed silent, she persisted—her hope was not in her circumstances but in the One she pursued. In seasons of silence or discouragement, let your faith grow louder, not quieter. Keep seeking, keep worshiping, and keep believing that God hears you and will respond in His perfect timing. [23:05]
Matthew 15:24-25 (ESV)
He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” But she came and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.”
Reflection: Is there an area in your life where you’ve felt God is silent? How can you persist in prayer and worship this week, trusting that He hears you?
Sometimes, people may label you, misunderstand you, or even insult you, but your true identity is not defined by others’ words. The Canaanite woman did not let being called a “dog” deter her; she knew what she needed from Jesus and refused to let offense block her blessing. Remember, it’s not what people call you, but what you answer to. Stand firm in your identity as a beloved child of God, and let humility guide your responses, trusting that God will honor your faith. [29:00]
Matthew 15:26-27 (ESV)
And he answered, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.”
Reflection: When have you let someone’s words or labels affect your sense of worth? How can you respond differently, rooted in your identity in Christ?
It’s easy to become jealous or discouraged when others receive blessings you’ve been praying for, but God’s timing and provision are perfect. The woman in Matthew 15 wasn’t concerned about what others received; she trusted that God had something for her, too. Celebrate others’ victories, knowing that your turn is coming. God can “flip the order” and bring you to the front of the line—He has not forgotten you, and your blessing is on the way. [30:38]
Matthew 15:28 (ESV)
Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed instantly.
Reflection: Think of a blessing you’ve been waiting for. How can you celebrate others’ successes while trusting that God’s timing for your own breakthrough is perfect?
Feelings of hopelessness, helplessness, or being less than can be overwhelming, but they do not define your reality. God cares deeply about your feelings and is actively bringing you through every trial and tribulation. Even when emotions try to convince you otherwise, hold on to the truth that God is with you, working all things for your good. Surrender those feelings to Him, and let faith, not fear or discouragement, guide your steps today. [39:00]
1 Peter 5:6-7 (ESV)
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
Reflection: What negative feelings have been trying to define your reality lately? Take a moment to surrender them to God in prayer, asking Him to remind you of His care and presence.
God is bringing you through. No matter what you’re facing—trials, tribulations, or the weight of feeling overlooked—God is at work in your life, moving you through every season. The story of the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15 reminds us that even when we feel ignored, rejected, or like outsiders, Jesus sees us. This woman, though dismissed by society and even initially by Jesus, persisted in faith for the sake of her child. Her story is a powerful reminder that our struggles are not just our own; they ripple through our families, communities, and generations.
We all know what it’s like to feel less than human, to be treated as if we don’t belong, or to be overlooked. Sometimes, we hide our struggles, pretending to be superhuman, but the truth is everyone is carrying something. The church, as the body of Christ, should be a place where people can come and be seen, valued, and helped. If we know what it’s like to be overlooked, we must not overlook others. Jesus is the only one who can truly bring us through these feelings and situations—no substitute will do.
Hopelessness can creep in when it seems like God is silent or when our prayers go unanswered. But like the Canaanite woman, we are called to persist, to keep seeking, worshiping, and trusting. Sometimes, the breakthrough isn’t even for us, but for those connected to us—our children, our families, our communities. Our faith and persistence can change the trajectory for others.
Helplessness is real, but it’s not the end of the story. God’s timing is perfect, and sometimes we just need to keep pressing, keep believing, and keep moving forward. It’s not about what others call us or how they label us; it’s about what we answer to and who we are in Christ. Our identity is secure in Him, and our legacy is shaped by our faithfulness, not by the opinions of others.
No matter how you feel—humanless, hopeless, or helpless—God cares for you. He is bringing you through, and your feelings do not define your future. Surrender those feelings to Him, trust His process, and remember: eventually, He will make everything all right.

``We can't say that the world needs Jesus when the church is trying to find other solutions. Let me say that again. We can't sit there and say they need Jesus when we act like we don't need Jesus. We act like we can solve our own problems, we act like we can solve our own issues, but we got to understand that the only person that can solve all of our problems in here ain't the pastor, ain't britney, ain't levi, ain't nobody. It's Jesus is the only individual that can change our lives forever. [00:12:10] (39 seconds) #OnlyJesusSaves
Jesus is the only one that gives you peace in the midnight hour. Jesus is the only one that'll keep you from slapping people when you want to slap them. Jesus is the only one that keeps you from cussing people out. Jesus is the only one that changed your behavior, dear brothers and sisters. Jesus is the only one. [00:13:23] (17 seconds) #JesusTransformsBehavior
Let me say that again. She increased her worship because it says she got down and called out to Jesus. Dear brothers and sisters, you got to understand when things get tough, don't you stop worshiping. You increase your worship. You increase your praise. You increase your cry and say, God, I'm going to keep searching after you until everything gets resolved. [00:26:01] (27 seconds) #WorshipInTheStorm
She said, the devil, you can't have my child. She said, you can't have my child. You can't have my family. You can't have my home. You can't have my friend. Why? Because I understand if I don't get it done, it ain't going to get done. And dear brothers and sisters, some of you got to realize, if you don't do it, it ain't going to get done. Come on. If you don't pick yourself up and sit there and say, self, we got to make it happen. It ain't going to happen. [00:27:01] (31 seconds) #ProtectWhatMattersMost
Those feelings are making you feel like God does not care. And I need you to know that God cares for you. I need you to know, dear brothers and sisters, that God is concerned about you. And no matter how you feel, I need you to know, without a shadow of doubt, eventually, he's going to make everything all right. [00:37:40] (28 seconds) #GodCaresDeeply
