God is looking for some men!

God created Adam, and God knew every person while still in the mother’s womb. The call to godly manhood begins right there, with the Creator who wired men on purpose and gave them a role in the home, in the church, and in society. God’s created order is not confusion, and the confusion of the world does not get to rewrite what God has already said.

Absolute truth stands at the center of it all. Absolute truth is a fact or reality that stays true at all times, in all places, no matter personal beliefs, opinions, or circumstances. God’s Word does not bend because society changes, because feelings change, or because the pressure gets heavy. The Bible is alive, active, and sharper than any two edged sword, and it tells a man where to stand.

Deuteronomy 20 puts Israel right on the edge of battle. Moses tells the men that they are going to see enemies more numerous than them, horses, chariots, and weapons stronger than theirs. The sight of all that could make any man scared, and that is why the command comes again and again: do not be fainthearted, do not panic, do not tremble. The priest’s charge is not built on Israel’s strength, but on the Lord who goes with His people to fight for them and save them.

Joshua 1 presses the same word deeper: arise. “Arise” is the word for a man who cannot stay on the sideline, cannot ride the fence, and cannot pretend courage is optional. The book of the law must not leave his mouth, and success comes by meditating on it day and night and doing what it says. The promise is plain: as God was with Moses and Joshua, He is with His people wherever they go.

Romans 8:31 asks the question that steadies a scared man: if God is for him, who can really stand against him? John 15 tells the truth about opposition: if the world hates those who stand for Jesus, it hated Jesus first. Jesus is the manliest man, because He knew the cup in front of Him and still drank it down to the last drop.

Joshua 24 makes the choice personal: choose today whom to serve. Hebrews 13 anchors that choice in God’s promise, “I will never leave you,” so the Lord is the helper and man does not have to fear what anyone can do. The call to godly manhood starts by following Jesus, leading the home, serving in the church, and leaving a godly mark. God’s army needs men who will stand up and say they are not afraid to be godly men.
