#PointToJesus
“``He announces grace. John does not bring the grace. He simply announces the grace. Are you listening to me? He simply points to Jesus as he's walking down the banks of Jordan River and rightly identifies him. He says, behold the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Church, come here. Let me help you. What John does is what all of us ought to do. He does is he uses his entire life and sense of identity to point somebody else to Jesus Christ. And y'all, that is all the clarity you need.”

#GodHeardYou
“God has heard your prayer. Four hundred years of silence from God does not mean that God wasn't listening even though God wasn't talking. If you're new here, listen. When I slow down that's the good part. Let's try it one more time. I say just because it seems like God isn't speaking doesn't mean that God is not listening. He says the Lord heard your prayer, and you and your wife Elizabeth will have a son. And in fact, you're gonna call his name John. Listen. The issue is just like I need clarity because I'm tired of doing the right thing without seeing real results. Sometimes I need clarity because waiting and wondering seem to be wearing holes in my faith. And I need God to tell me that the season of waiting is still worth it, that my prayers are being heard, and that God has a way of moving God's own way in God's own time. I wish I had a witness in the building. I have no need to fear.”

#RecognizeTheMiracle
“It is gonna be miraculous. And I need to identify the characteristics of the miracle so that I don't treat it like it's mundane. need clarity in the same way church that I need clarity because I'm tired of doing the right thing without seeing real results. And the same way I need clarity because I'm because waiting and wondering seem to be wearing holes in my faith. I need clarity so I won't mishandle my miracle by trying to make it fit in when it's called to stand out.”

#JohnMeansGrace
“It is not just a description. It's a prescription. Why John? John is the shortened form of John Han or Jonathan in our English transliteration. It is it means God gives grace or God is gracious. See priests were called John's biological lineage as a priest was a calling to uphold, teach, and make sure people adhere to the law. But the problem is we we can't do that. So we need someone with a foot in the priesthood. But another foot in prophetic ministry to say you're called to keep the law but you can't do it. So let me introduce you to one who will live the life you cannot live, die the death you should have died, and then give you the grace you need to live beyond your past.”

#PromiseInTheWaiting
“The the the greatest the greatest tension I live is is this tension of waiting on the timing of God. And here's what I need. I need a word that strengthens my weight. When I slow down, that's good. I'll have trouble on time. What God will do is not bring the blessing before it's time, but he'll give you a promise to keep you in the meantime. Are y'all gonna talk back to me here? God will not expedite the blessing out of order, but what he will do is give you strength to keep fighting and keep holding and keep believing while it seems to be taking too long because your calendar and your clock does not rush God's timing. So he gives you a word to stand on, to believe in, and to hold on to until the time shows up. Let me”

#CantHurryGod
“Come here. While I tell you God heard you the first time. And while you rousing and shaking God and upset that God hadn't moved yet and God hadn't fixed it yet and God hadn't made a way yet and God hadn't paid tuition yet, and God hadn't opened the door yet. Can I tell you God's saying, I heard you the first time? I heard you the first time you cried out to me. It's just not time yet. Your grandmama is pushing me in the back. She wants me to tell you, you can't hurry, God. You just gotta wait. You gotta be patient and give God time no matter how long it takes. He's a God that you can't hurry, but he'll be there. Don't you worry. He may not come when you want him to come, but if you hold on to his word, he is all on time.”

#YesAndAmen
“My prayers have been heard. And if I can just stay faithful in the meantime, I can have hope that God is ultimately going to do what God promised that God is going to do because God is not slack concerning his promise as some men count slackness. Every word in him is yes and amen because God is not a man that he should lie, neither the son of man that he should repent. If God says it's happening, I can hold on in the meantime even when there's no evidence.”

#GodGivesMore
“In fact, it's interesting because they have been serving God faithfully for decades. According to Luke chapter one verse six, they are both righteous before God walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. Their character is unquestionable. Their devotion is genuine and yet one deeply personal prayer remains unanswered. They wanted God to give them a son. In their culture, to have a son meant that Elizabeth might be the mother of the Messiah and to not have a son was akin to being cursed or forgotten by God. Year after year, they're walking in obedience. They're they're they're doing what they are supposed to do without knowing that what they were asking for stopped short of what God wanted to give them. They were simply asking God for a son, and God was trying to give them a prophet instead.”
