#LoveAnyway
“And hard, hard, hard though that is, we have to get ourselves in a place where we can love them anyway. We can bless them anyway. We can pray for them anyway. Because that is the commitment we've made. We have said we will protect the unity of our church. That means we cannot have a view about someone else that is different to the view that Jesus has of them.”

#AlwaysInGodsPresence
“Because there's never a moment we are outside the presence of God. There's never a moment where we can't access him. There's never a moment where we can't ask the Holy Spirit to guide us. There's never a moment where we are left alone to manage this unity thing by ourselves. We have the spirit of Jesus. The one who is in us is greater. We can access that, and we can get our heads around the fact that there is never a moment we're outside the presence of God, that we are standing there all the time.”

#FreedomInServing
“And when we understand that, there's something really, really liberating about it. Because if I get that I'm a slave, if I get that all I have to do is be faithful to the instruction that Jesus gives me, I don't have to look along the row and be jealous of what Jesus is doing with you. don't have to look along the row and think, oh, I wish I had that gift, that talent, that ability. Because I don't own it. I'm a slave. It doesn't belong to me.”

#ChooseGrace
“I'm gonna look at you and think, okay. Do you know what? That's out of character for you. Generally generally, you're lovely. Generally, you're generous. Generally, you're gracious. Generally, you are passionate about serving the lord. You're you're just having a moment here. And I'm gonna let you get through that moment remembering that the majority of the time, you're my friend. You're my brother and sister in Christ, and I've agreed. I've made a covenant with you.”

#StandInHisPresence
“The last point was I stand in the presence and I stand with you. Gabriel doesn't just stand before God, he stands with Zechariah. And maybe the question this morning isn't, are we united? Perhaps the question is, where are we standing? Are we standing in the presence of God knowing who we are and to whom we belong? Are we standing in the presence of God seeing each other through the eyes of Jesus? Are we standing in the presence of God choosing to serve? Are we standing in the presence of God submitting out of reverence for Christ? Are we standing in the presence of God and standing alongside others?”

#JesusBuildsTheChurch
“And scripture is really clear. It's not you and me who is building this who are building this church. Jesus is building his church. We get to be a part of that. He is so gracious and so kind, And he loves to work in partnership with us, but it's his church, not ours. It's his calling, not ours. His ministry that he's given us, not ours. His gifts that he's given us, not ours.”

#PresenceShapesPurpose
“And my sense is that if we can grab hold of the truth that at any moment, on any day, wherever we are, we are standing in the presence of God, then that will have an impact on the way that we understand our role in the world and our role in the church. Because there's never a moment we are outside the presence of God. There's never a moment where we can't access him. There's never a moment where we can't ask the Holy Spirit to guide us.”

#PreparedForJoy
“And that's a posture that we need to take, I think, sometimes. That we look at each other and do think, you know, generally, you are great. Right now, you're wobbling. And I'm not gonna let the wobble be the thing that defines you. I'm gonna let the fact that god is preparing you for joy be the thing that defines you. I'm not gonna let the snappy moment that we've just had be this thing that defines our friendship.”
