Day 1: Drawn from Chaos, Redeemed for Purpose

A child floats in a papyrus basket among Nile reeds, suspended between death and destiny. Water—both chaos and healing—threatens to swallow Moses whole, yet becomes the path to his redemption. This mirrors God’s first act in Genesis: separating waters to create order from formlessness. Just as Moses is lifted from the river, God still pulls us from life’s turbulent currents into sacred purpose. Even when hidden in baskets or palaces, His plans cannot drown. [01:06:02]

Then Pharaoh’s daughter said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.” And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses, “Because,” she said, “I drew him out of the water.” (Exodus 2:6-10, ESV)

Day 2: Between Two Worlds, Called by One God

Mhes stands at a crossroads: raised Egyptian yet bound by Hebrew blood, rejected by both. A prince turned refugee, he flees to Midian’s wilderness—a “nowhere” that becomes holy ground. Identity crises often precede divine assignments. When we feel too fractured to be useful, God meets us in the desert of our displacement. His call isn’t limited by our sense of belonging. When he went out the next day, behold, two Hebrews were struggling together. He said to the man in the wrong, “Why do you strike your companion?” He answered, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Day 3: Sandals Off in the Wilderness

A bush burns in Midian’s wasteland—unconsumed, undignified, undeniable. God sanctifies dirt, turning shepherd’s ground holy. Sandals removed, Moses kneels barefoot before mystery. Holiness isn’t confined to temples; it erupts where God speaks. Our most ordinary places—kitchens, cubicles, hospital rooms—can become sanctuaries when He ignites them. [01:12:23]

And the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” Then He said, “Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” (Exodus 3:2-5, ESV)

Day 4: “Who Am I?” The God Who Goes With You

When tasks outweigh our courage, God trades our “Who am I?” for His “I will be.” The burning bush isn’t about Moses’ readiness, but Yahweh’s faithfulness. [01:14:16]

Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?” God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” (Exodus 3:13-14, ESV)

Moses enters Exodus as a child drawn up from the waters of chaos, where death could have claimed him but God’s mercy instead preserves him.
