41s
“``In other words, if Jesus got up, you cannot keep lying down in sin like it's your permanent address. Some people treat grace like a parking meter. I'll just feed it a little more and stay where I am. But grace is not a meter. It is a miracle. It does not just cover sin. It confronts sin, kills sin's authority, and raises us to walk in newness of life.”
54s
“Grace is not permission to keep living like the old you. Grace is union with Christ, his death, his burial, and his resurrection. In other words, if Jesus got up, you cannot keep lying down in sin like it's your permanent address. Some people treat grace like a parking meter. I'll just feed it a little more and stay where I am. But grace is not a meter. It is a miracle. It does not just cover sin. It confronts sin, kills sin's authority, and raises us to walk in newness of life.”

“Then the water runs out. The boy cries. The mother cries, and Hagar sits down because she cannot bear to watch her son die. That is a painful picture of abandonment, helplessness, and despair. But then the text says something holy. God heard the boy crying, and God opened Hagar's eyes. She was not abandoned, only overwhelmed. She did not need a new god. She needed to open her eyes. And, church, sometimes our problem is not that God is absent. Our problem is that grief, fear, and disappointment altogether have clouded our sight.”

“Now bring Romans six into the into the picture. Paul asked the question, shall we continue in sin so that grace may abound? And he answered with the strongest language possible, by no means. Grace is not permission to keep living like the old you.
