The school calendar can tell families when classes, breaks, and events are coming, but it cannot tell the whole story. The future still holds changes, burdens, surprises, and moments that nobody can map out ahead of time. Deuteronomy 31:8 gives a better promise than a detailed plan: “The Lord himself goes before you and he will be with you.” God does not promise that every road will be easy, but God does promise that no child, parent, teacher, or church member will walk that road alone.
Israel stood at the edge of a land they had never lived in, and Joshua had to lead people through a future he could not explain in advance. God’s presence did not remove Joshua’s responsibility to lead or Israel’s responsibility to move forward. God’s presence made faithful action possible. Courage does not mean a person is never scared. Courage means that, in spite of fear, a person takes the next step because God has already gone ahead.
Children carry futures that parents cannot fully control. Parents cannot walk every hallway, make every decision, or prevent every sorrow. God, however, is already present in every tomorrow and is more able to carry what parents and teachers cannot carry. Jesus receives children in Mark 10 not as interruptions, projects, or extensions of adult ambition, but as people known, valued, and loved by God.
Christian education seeks more than good grades, strong resumes, or preparation for a career. Christian education works toward the whole person: physical, mental, and spiritual growth. Homes, schools, and churches each have a part in helping children know Jesus, grow in wisdom and character, and learn to serve. Children need instruction, but they also watch what adults love, excuse, do with disappointment, and repair after failure.
Psalm 78 gives every generation a responsibility to tell the next generation what God has done, so that children may set their own hope in God. Faith cannot simply be handed down as borrowed words. Faith must become a child’s own prayer, trust, and relationship with Christ. The church, school, and home do not need identical roles, but they do need one shared mission.
A hundred years of Christian education calls the community to gratitude and readiness. The future will not be built by chasing numbers or relying on programs alone. The church in Acts lived faithfully together, and the Lord added those who were being saved. God’s school, God’s church, and God’s mission call for faithful hands and feet that are ready to receive the families God sends.

Key Takeaways
- 1. God goes before every unknown [01:19:46] God’s promise is not a complete map of every hardship, change, or decision ahead. God’s promise is His own presence before, within, and beyond the road that feels uncertain. Faith rests not in knowing the outcome, but in knowing who is already there. Courage grows when God’s presence becomes more real than tomorrow’s fears. [79:46]
- 2. Children are seen, loved, and called [01:27:03] Jesus gives children room near Him when others see them as distractions from more important things. Every child bears God’s image and carries a calling that cannot be reduced to achievement, behavior, or adult expectations. Children are not projects to manage or resumes to build. God knows their names, receives their questions, and invites them into His kingdom. [87:03]
- 3. Faith must become personally lived [01:30:33] Psalm 78 calls adults to tell the coming generation about God’s deeds so that children can set their own hope in Him. Borrowed language can introduce faith, but it cannot replace a personal relationship with Christ. Children need opportunities to pray in their own words and bring what is truly on their hearts before God. Genuine formation helps faith move from adult instruction to personal trust. [90:33]
- 4. Repair matters after failure [01:35:18] Children learn from adult frustration, but they also learn deeply from adult repentance and repair. A humble return after harsh words shows that forgiveness is not merely a doctrine but a lived reality. Flawless examples are not required. Honest adults who depend on Christ can point children toward grace in a powerful way. [95:18]
- 5. Faithful love prepares room for growth [01:41:26] A whispered prayer, an encouraging word, a parent asking for help, and a volunteer showing up can seem small. God often shapes the future through those faithful acts that receive little attention. Readiness means creating room for families before every need becomes obvious. A community that lives the faith together becomes ready for the people God brings.
