#ExtravagantGrace
“It's extravagant and seemingly wasteful, and the son who was lost comes home and is restored and brought back into the family and is welcomed before he even says he's sorry. That is bananas, church. That is the nature of the God we serve who says, come home. Come back. I love you with an everlasting love. There's nothing you can do to make me stop loving you. And there was nothing that the son could do to for God to stop pursuing him and going with him wherever he went. He just had to come to his senses and come home. The invitation is the same for you and me today.”

#ComeToYourSenses
“You ever been there? The place of decision that had led to a place of famine and a place of limited resources, a place where the plans of life didn't go the way you thought they would, and all of a sudden we're in the pigpen struggling to find a way to exist. This is natural consequence. This isn't God saying, shame on you. This isn't God going, hey, shame, shame, shame. I know your name. This is just the the actual response of what happens in life. He made choices. So he says, he comes to his senses.”

#GodIsCompassionate
“This is God's self depiction to Moses. Who are you God? And God gives himself this name. And he says, the compassionate and gracious God. How many of us have always thought of God as a big old bully frying ants on an ant hill with a magnifying glass? How many of us have this view of God ready to strike us with a lightning bolt when we do something wrong? How many of us have this image of God that that he's angry and bloodthirsty and all this other stuff? And here's the description that God gives of God's self.”

#GraceNotJudgment
“Sometimes we assume that God is is a a God who's sitting back there with like a big old oh, what are those things called? A a a list on a on a clipboard going check, wrong, check, wrong. Right? And we're just like we're flunking life's test. Some of us may feel like that. Some of us are like, there was a test, I didn't even know. And so sometimes we struggle in life and we project to God that he's disappointed us because of our fears.”
