58s
“It's here that we have a father who's tested by being asked to sacrifice his son. But the day would soon come in the same area where God would sacrifice his son, and it was not a test. Jesus was hung on a tree in the same region, the same area where Abraham was asked to sacrifice his son Isaac. God's son was hanging on the cross, and the knife was coming down, but there was no ram in the thicket. It was a sacrifice for you and for me, and God is still writing his story.”
57s
“Question. Why would God, why would God choose an elderly, infertile couple to build a nation? You see, we can't forget that the upper story, the grand story, it's all about the glory of God. And so we see that God chooses the weak, the least likely, because it's only then where you can't question who's gonna get the glory. Right? For everyone who doesn't feel like they're qualified to be part of the story God is writing, maybe you think you're too late, too old, you've made too many mistakes, you don't have the resources or the talents, Look at Abraham, look at Sarah, and know that God uses people like you and like me because it gives him the opportunity to be glorified.”
49s
“We look at Abraham and Sarah. It doesn't make any sense. Right? If you were to put it on paper, it makes no sense. But God chose the most unlikely couple upon which to build a nation. To cause people to look to God to explain how it all happened. I hope this gives you a lot of hope today. Because God's strategy of picking the least likely candidate to succeed could be, it just could be our opportunity to be picked for a God sized project. So that others will be able to see him when great things happen.”
