God’s goodness stands first in the simple mercy of waking somebody up this morning. Blessing does not start with a new car, new house, new clothes, or a few dollars in the pocket. Blessing starts when breath is still in the body, the mind is still right, and feet can still enter the house of the Lord, even if a cane, wheelchair, or gurney has to help get there.
The light of God’s people is meant to shine in front of men. The light can be 10 watts, 20 watts, or 100 watts, but the light only keeps shining when it stays plugged into the source. The Holy Ghost is not a smart app on a phone. The Holy Ghost has to be deep down within, keeping, sustaining, comforting, and carrying the believer through without letting the believer get stuck going through.
Blessing comes in many forms, and God’s blessing is released through declaration, trust, and praise. God has a blessing with each name on it, but every blessing is not the same, because every life has particular needs. Life has challenges, situations, and circumstances that show up when least expected, and those moments can make a person wonder whether God is really on the side. God still says that he will never leave nor forsake, but trust has to come before the mess gets made, not only after human hands have already tangled everything up.
The blessing of God also has responsibility tied to it. God can give, but mismanagement can waste what God gave. A car can be a blessing, but payments still matter. A job can be prayed for, but applications still have to be filled out. Faith has substance, but faith does not excuse laziness.
Praise positions the heart to receive what God is doing. When praises go up, blessings come down, not because praise is a trick, but because praise remembers who God is in the middle of the good, the bad, and the ugly. The potter still wants to put broken lives back together again. Humpty Dumpty could not be fixed by all the king’s horses and men, but God has the power to pull life back together, heal what is ailing, and carry what cannot carry itself.
The solid rock is Jesus. The believer standing on that rock can face the huffing and puffing of the devil without being blown away. May the Lord God bless his people real good.

Key Takeaways
- 1. Blessing is more than money Blessing names the mercy that keeps a person alive before it ever names what fills a pocket. A peaceful mind can be richer than celebrity, fame, or a million dollars with misery attached. God’s favor is often seen first in breath, movement, sanity, and the grace of being above ground. [30:57]
- 2. Stay plugged into the source The light only shines while it remains connected to God. A little wattage may still show, but distance from the source slowly dims what used to burn bright. The Holy Ghost is not a device to control, but the living presence who keeps, sustains, comforts, and carries the soul through. [28:50]
- 3. Faith still takes responsibility God’s blessing does not cancel stewardship. A car may come by grace, but payments still reveal whether the gift is being handled rightly. Prayer for a job is real, but faith also gets up and fills out applications. [41:57]
- 4. Praise remembers God’s mercy Praise is not denial of trouble, because life still brings the good, the bad, and the ugly. Praise tells the truth that God has carried his people through what could have broken them. The soul cries hallelujah because grace and mercy were working even when obedience was weak. [51:09]
- 5. The Potter restores broken lives Brokenness does not have to be the final shape of a life. Human strength, like all the king’s horses and all the king’s men, cannot put everything back together. God has power to gather what fell apart and make the wounded stand again on the solid rock, Jesus.
