Global Mission: Awakening the Next Generation for Christ

Summary

In this gathering, I shared a vision that has been stirring in my heart—a vision of a massive sending movement that is not confined to America but extends globally. This movement is rooted in the belief that the greatest days of spiritual harvest and awakening are still ahead of us. We are called to lift our eyes beyond the headlines and see the ripe harvest fields, both in our own nations and across the world. The vision is to launch 200,000 new missionaries to reach the unreached, to see every high school and university as mission fields, and to activate the church in foster care and adoption like never before. This vision took a significant step forward in 2019 with a gathering in Orlando, Florida, where thousands committed to these mission fields. The momentum continued in Brazil, where 150,000 people gathered, and a hundred thousand missional commitments were made. Now, we are looking towards Kansas City, believing that God is setting the stage for a great awakening and commissioning.

As we prepare for this next step, I am reminded of the importance of authenticity and reliance on the Holy Spirit. It's not about eloquent speeches or human wisdom but about a demonstration of the Spirit's power. We must be willing to step out of our comfort zones and allow God to do a new work in us. This is a call to the next generation to rise up, to be self-controlled and sober-minded, and to focus on prayer and intimacy with God. The world is changing rapidly, and we must decide how we will spend our short time on earth. Let us invest in lighting the next generation on fire for God, encouraging them to live for something greater than themselves.

Devotional

Day 1: A Vision for Global Mission
The call to launch 200,000 new missionaries is a divine mandate to reach the unreached and re-evangelize our own nations. This vision challenges us to see every high school and university as mission fields and to engage in foster care and adoption with unprecedented zeal. It is a call to lift our eyes beyond the headlines and see the ripe harvest fields, both in our own nations and across the world. The movement is not confined to America but extends globally, believing that the greatest days of spiritual harvest and awakening are still ahead of us. [01:23]

Matthew 9:37-38 (ESV): "Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.'"

Reflection: What is one specific way you can contribute to the mission field in your local community or beyond, whether through prayer, support, or direct involvement?

Day 2: The Power of Authenticity
True transformation comes not from eloquent speeches but from a demonstration of the Spirit's power. We must resist the temptation to rely on human wisdom and instead allow God to work through us in new and unexpected ways. Authenticity in our faith journey means being open to the Holy Spirit's leading and stepping out of our comfort zones. It is about allowing God to do a new work in us, demonstrating His power through our lives. [14:08]

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (ESV): "And my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God."

Reflection: In what area of your life are you relying on your own wisdom instead of seeking the Spirit's power? How can you invite God to work through you in this area today?

Day 3: Raising the Next Generation
Our focus should be on investing in the next generation, helping them to develop a deep, personal relationship with God. This involves teaching them to pray, to be self-controlled, and to live with a clear purpose in a rapidly changing world. The call is to light the next generation on fire for God, encouraging them to live for something greater than themselves. It is about equipping them to rise up and be self-controlled and sober-minded, focusing on prayer and intimacy with God. [32:14]

1 Timothy 4:12 (ESV): "Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity."

Reflection: Who is one young person in your life you can mentor or encourage in their faith journey? What practical step can you take this week to invest in their spiritual growth?

Day 4: Urgency in Our Times
The world is changing rapidly, and we must recognize the urgency of the times. This is not a time for lukewarm faith but for a radical commitment to God's purposes. We must decide how we will spend our short time on earth and live with eternity in mind. The call is to live with a sense of urgency, recognizing that our time is limited and that we are called to make a significant impact for God's kingdom. [47:07]

Ephesians 5:15-16 (ESV): "Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil."

Reflection: What is one area of your life where you feel a sense of urgency to make a change or take action for God's kingdom? How can you begin to address this today?

Day 5: The Call to Prayer
Prayer is not just a means to an end but a vital part of our relationship with God. We must be self-controlled and sober-minded so that we can pray effectively and hear God's direction for our lives. This is essential as we navigate the challenges of our times. The call to prayer is a call to intimacy with God, to seek His guidance and direction in every aspect of our lives. [39:04]

Colossians 4:2 (ESV): "Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving."

Reflection: How can you create a more intentional and consistent prayer routine in your daily life? What specific time or place can you dedicate to meeting with God in prayer?

Quotes

We are called to lift our eyes beyond the headlines and see the ripe harvest fields, both in our own nations and across the world. The vision is to launch 200,000 new missionaries to reach the unreached, to see every high school and university as mission fields, and to activate the church in foster care and adoption like never before. [00:51:39]

We believe that God is calling us to the re-evangelization of our own Nations. Believe that every high school in America is a mission field, every University in America is a mission field. Believe that God is calling the church to activate into foster care and adoption like perhaps no generation in human history. [01:55:08]

The Lord spoke to us and said that the next location in America would be Kansas City, that all arrows were pointed to Arrowhead stadiums. And so 11 months from now in early June 2022, we will be gathering an Arrowhead Stadium because we believe that God's eyes are on this region right now. [03:54:12]

I want to be filled by your spirit every second. I want to be abiding in you every second. I want to be Courageous, Courageous enough to say anything you want to come out of this mouth whatever. If everyone hates me, so be it, come what may right and we just sing that I will obey. [11:48:42]

Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel and not with words of eloquent wisdom lest the Cross of Christ be emptied of its power. So there's a warning here, where he's saying okay God didn't send me the baptize so you can say oh I was baptized by Paul. [12:53:22]

I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom but in demonstration of the spirit and of power so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. [14:25:14]

If today I could truly be possessed by the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit like God from heaven today literally does something and changes your heart you can't be swayed by another human being. Something of God will be born inside of you where I don't care who tries to talk you out of it they can't. [16:29:34]

I fell in love with Jesus 40 years ago and it changed my life. I'm not saying it's been perfect I'm not saying I haven't gotten my feet muddied but I'm telling you whenever I do it grosses me out, it feels dark it just there's no peace and I've got to get out and clean myself off. [21:43:26]

I want you to know how to pray if this is my last season on this Earth there's no guarantee my dad died when I was 12 my mom died when I was born I don't know when it's going to be the end for me and I go I'm looking at this world and I just love you guys and I want you to make it. [28:17:04]

The end of all things is at hand therefore be self-controlled and sober minded for the sake of your prayers. See we usually think of prayer as a means to an end where I pray and go God, I'm praying because I want this to happen and then and that is part of Prayer. [38:36:48]

I want to light you on fire because you got your whole life in front of you and I'm begging you look you guys you're gonna waste it if you're just obsessed with keeping up and doing what everyone else is doing look at everyone else's family look at everyone else's marriages look at everything else that's going is that really what you want. [43:16:02]

Let's protect this next generation and let's send them out and not be obsessed with them living a long comfortable life on the earth because you and I know that's a myth given our day and age and let's pray for a serious movement of young people who spend their lives well and have their minds focused on an eternal God.
