#CenteringExhortation
“``urging believers to live closely aligned with God's truth as well as and giving warning and advice. And so, exhortation would be urging people to live close to God's truth. God's truth, not the world's truth, not individual truth, anything like that, but God's truth. Living close to God's truth. Or or coming closer to God's truth than one on one's own life. And and so we're we are called to live in God's truth. And and and what the word of prophecy will do will urge us to move back towards the the word of truth. Maybe we get off on the right hand or the left hand, whatever it may be. The the word of prophecy is to bring us back center, bring us back onto the path, bring us back in the place. And it it could be a word of correction, of course, in love and and grace and mercy. But but a word of prophecy will build us up, and it will exhort us. It will give us wise advice or or warning about maybe a path we're going down or a path we should go.”

#ProphecyCentersAndCorrects
“But it's to align us with God's truth. The third thing that prophecy does, the third of the threefold purpose is is to console, is to comfort. In difficult times, it's to bring comfort and peace during those difficult seasons in life. Maybe to cheer up or to console in a difficult time. So a word of prophecy, will will do those things. It will build up. It will, exhort as warning, and it will comfort in those difficult times. And and what you will find is that a word of prophecy will, in most every case, will follow all three of those. That will, in some way, somehow, that all three of those will be hit. Now it may not look like we think it is or want it to be or or whatever it may be, but we're going to see that the the word of prophecy is it's spoken over our lives or over the church. It's gonna build up. It's gonna, correct or warn, and then it's gonna comfort.”

#ProphecyInNativeTongue
“but prophecy is in the known language. So I I speak English, and and so a prophecy would take place like in our church service where it is an English speaking church service. Prophecy would be spoken in English for everybody in the room to understand. There would be no need for an interpretation. If it was an unknown language, then that's when you need an interpretation. But if it's spoken in your native tongue, then there's no need for an interpretation. And I think that's why prophecy is more important or a a not more important, but a a better gift to operate in than tongues and interpretation of tongues. Because the simple fact is prophecy is a direct word from God that people can just understand. It's like cutting out the middleman. There's no middleman to give an interpretation. There is prophecy. There's a word from God.”

#ExhortationToServeCommunity
“if if for whatever reason we decide not to do that, the word of exhortation would be, no. God has called us to reach our community, and and so we must do that because that's the calling he's put on our life. And and and so that's what a word of exhortation would do. Maybe it maybe in a personal sense, there is this word or you're getting off God's path. I know as a pastor, there there have been times that I've sat with people and and and spoken to the life. God's given me a word of warning or advice in their life that, hey. You're getting off the path of what God's called you to do. You need to come back centered. You need to come back to your first love. You need to come back to that place where God's called you to be. And so the word of prophecy will do that. It will build you up, and it will encourage you, and then it will exhort you. It will give you wise advice and warning.”

#ProphecySpeaksToAll
“Prophecy is for the benefit of believers, the whole church. And it's gonna be a word to a church or to a believer, an individual, believer. So it will profit believers, but then it also profits unbelievers. So the the scripture here says that, they will come in and they will hear prophesying. So they will hear and understand what people are saying. And and those those prophecy will begin to speak the secrets of their life, and they will say, surely, god is here. They'll churn their life to god because they see and they understand prophecy. Here, Paul explains that if everybody's speaking in tongues, then everybody they're gonna think you're crazy. But if everybody's prophesying, then they're gonna understand in their native language. They're gonna understand and and be able to receive from God that way. And so I think that's another aspect of why prophecy is the greatest of the vocal gifts.”

#CutOutTheMiddlemanProphecy
“If it was an unknown language, then that's when you need an interpretation. But if it's spoken in your native tongue, then there's no need for an interpretation. Because the simple fact is prophecy is a direct word from God that people can just understand. It's like cutting out the middleman. There's no middleman to give an interpretation. There is prophecy. There's a word from God. And so prophecy is for understanding. It's for the benefit of all because it's done in the native tongue. It it's done in a native language. So if we were if we were a Spanish speaking church, then the gift of prophecy would operate in Spanish. And so, it it's for those in the house to understand.”

#PastoralWordsOfWarning
“I know as a pastor, there there have been times that I've sat with people and and and spoken to the life. God's given me a word of warning or advice in their life that, hey.
