#PrayAndAct
“or it's not actually good news at all. So I know I'm a little over, but give me some time here. I'm wrapping up. This this passage actually gives us something real, something we can actually use. Notice that the servant doesn't pray sitting in his tent back home waiting for God to deliver a wife for his doorstep. What does he do? He prayed after he had already traveled 450 miles. He prayed standing at a well at the time of day when women would come and draw water. His prayer and his obedience, they were happening what? At the same time. He took the next faithful step and then he prayed over what he found there. And so here's a simple way I think we can apply this. One, pray like the outcome is in God's hand. Are you going through a moment of decision in your life? Well, pray like it's already in God's hands because listen, it is. It is. And then second, act like it's still your responsibility to walk in obedience.”

#KeepShowingUp
“you may not see God's hand in the moment. Servant didn't. At least not really. Not until Rebecca was already walking toward him with a jar on her shoulder. But the same way that God was working in that well before anyone knew anything, before it was settled, God is working. Listen, God is working in whatever you're standing in the middle of right now. There's a word I wanna have for you. It's this. All these to say this, look, I don't know what you're going through. But God, listen, he's working. But I don't see it. I don't working. You don't have to see it. You just have to keep doing the next faithful thing in front of you. showing up at the well.”

“Right there before he knows if Rebecca's family will agree to do anything, before Rebecca herself even says the words, I will go, The outcome isn't settled. The deal isn't closed. All Abraham's servant has is a hopeful sign. And what does he do? At the at the hope that this might be it, he goes, oh, God. Oh, you're in I know you're in this. He worships. He worships. At the sign that this might be going in the right direction, he pauses and goes, oh, Lord, you are awesome. Now this worship is no victory lap. Right? This the victory lap happens after you've crossed the finish line as a winner. This is listen. Trust offered before anyone knows how the story ends.”

#FaithInTheOrdinary
“Abraham's servant wasn't asking for a miracle or trying to manufacture certainty. He was asking to recognize listen. He was asking to recognize God's hand in something ordinary. Watering at the well. We already learned about this. He said, like, this is the time when women would usually go there. He wasn't asking for anything really out of the ordinary. To everyone else watching, they would have seen a polite stranger at a well. To a man praying with his eyes wide open, that was God's faithfulness. And and right now at this point in the story, nothing has been resolved. The servant doesn't know if this will work. He's standing at a well in a foreign country having just prayed an enormous prayer, a specific prayer with absolutely no idea whether anyone will fulfill it. And truth be told, most of us know exactly what this feels like.”
