"And we, my friends, are the most connected society in the history of the world. And yet, many of us would be honest and say, like, nobody really knows all of me. Nobody really sees all of me. There's not many relationships or a relationship that I have in my life where I can lay it all out, where I can be unfiltered." [00:04:16] (27 seconds)

"But I'm here to tell you this morning that if Jesus knowing you is not enough, then me knowing you or your wife knowing you or your kids knowing you will never be enough. Jesus knowing you must be enough. To be able to sit at the feet of Jesus and have him call you by name and tell you that his righteousness is now yours, that has to be enough for us." [00:05:41] (29 seconds)

"Her commitment to generosity was based upon Jesus's character, not what he had done for her, not what she expected him to do for her, not out of her excess. Her generosity was rooted in what she knew about Jesus. And so I would ask, what if we value Jesus' character as much as we value Jesus' power?" [00:12:32] (24 seconds)

"She teaches us to refuse to let communal shame intimidate our worship. I can only imagine what she thought about herself, but she dared to come uninvited, not knowing if she would be turned away at the door of Simon. I think about like the prostitute when she looked in the mirror, what she thought about herself." [00:15:30] (25 seconds)

"Her tears fell on his feet and she wiped them off with her hair. These, my friends, are tears of repentance. And this is what happens when we accept Christ's forgiveness and we decide to live our lives dancing to the rhythm of God's grace instead of soaking in the shame of the mirror in which we look in every single day." [00:17:38] (26 seconds)

"And what's amazing to me, every time I read this passage, every time I think about this encounter that she had with Jesus, all the identities that had weighed her down and that she probably held onto for years upon years upon years, all of a sudden, when she decreased herself, and got on her knees, it was at the feet of Jesus that she was given a new identity." [00:20:10] (32 seconds)

"It was at the feet of Jesus that he said, your sins are forgiven, your faith has saved you, go in peace. It's at the feet of Jesus that true freedom is found, family. And she learned that. She understood that her new identity was found in decrease. This unnamed woman repented at the feet of Jesus and heard the words of Jesus, your sins are forgiven, your faith has saved you, go in peace." [00:20:41] (39 seconds)

"Have you laid bare before Jesus everything and been like Jesus I'm repenting for my sins I'm asking for your forgiveness here is all that I got I can bring nothing to the table but I want to take on I want to take on your righteousness you say that you were compassionate and gracious god i'm asking you to be compassionate and gracious towards me and i will live the rest of my life for you do you want a relationship with jesus you can have it today you no longer have to live this filtered life you no longer have to travel this road and say nobody really knows me jesus will know you and it'll be all that matters and you'll be able to walk in a new identity with a new name and no longer have to live in shame guilt and condemnation for there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in christ jesus if you want to have a relationship with jesus today it's a simple prayer that i would love to pray with you i would love to walk you into a relationship with jesus to connect you to the life -changing power of jesus christ if you want to connect to the life -changing power of jesus christ today i'm going to ask you to take one step of discomfort i can promise you it'll be your first step of discomfort in a relationship that'll last for a lifetime i'm just going to ask if you would like to connect to the life -changing power of jesus christ today that you would stand right where you are" [00:24:20] (90 seconds)
