#SpiritSelfControl
“``Unfortunately, we don't have very good self control at birth because we're born into sin. Right? We're born desiring to indulge in sin. So self control has to be taught, and the only person that can really teach you self control is the Holy Spirit in your life. And that's the fruit of allowing the Holy Spirit to work in your life is self control. Self control might be the best way we can show God how much we love him. Why? Because self control says, Jesus, my body desires to overindulge in sin, but I love and desire a good relationship with you more. That's what self control says to god. It says, god, my body desires but I love you so much that I'm gonna use self control to not sin. I love you more than I do that sin. That's what the holy spirit wants to produce in our life.”

#SpiritNotChecklist
“It's the fruit of the spirit. It's the the spirit produces all these things at one time in your life if you allow him to win that battle in your life, if he wins that war that you're fighting inside of you. It's not a bunch of things for you to work on. You're supposed to allow the Holy Spirit to work on them in you. You you get what I'm saying? It's not a list that says, hey. Today, I want you to work on love, joy, peace. Tomorrow, I'll work on general's goodness, meekness. Right? Because it's not about you. You don't produce it. It's also not a work of the these one at a time thing. It it's allowing the Holy Spirit to work on you and do develop all of them at the same time. You can't develop these. They only come from the Holy Spirit. They're not the works of Carl. They're not they're not the works of you. They're the works of the Holy Spirit working in your life.”

#SacrificialLove
“You see, true love is not about me. It's about me expressing love to you. This is how it's so different. The only kind of love the world knows is a selfish love. says, you meet my needs, and if you meet my needs, then I'll love you back. But if you don't meet my needs, then I'm not gonna love you. That's what the rule describes all the time. Well, we just fell out of love. He wasn't meeting my needs. She wasn't meeting my needs. Whatever. And we talk about it as if love is something that somebody does for us. But when we look at the scripture and it talks about love, love is something that we sacrifice for others. So, the very first thing in our list is telling us we gotta love differently than what the world tells us to love. The type of love that you show changes when you are led by the spirit. We start loving in a sacrificial way, and our sacrificial love leads to sacrificial actions. Okay? Listen to me. Sacrificial love always leads to sacrificial actions.”

#GentleRestoration
“Because gentleness diffuses anger. That's what the Bible is trying to get us to do is be gentle even in restoration. It's extremely difficult to restore if you're not gonna be gentle. People don't get restored by bullies. And we have to admit that our salvation was god restoring us. So how good are we when we need a restoration too? Like, how can we say, well, let me see, gentleness is not let me tell you how much better I am than you, and let me show your fault. That's not gentleness. Gentleness is saying, man, I messed up just like you, and I needed Jesus just like you. Let me tell you about Jesus and his love for you. That's gentleness. That's kindness. That's what god's desiring in our lives.”
