Sermon Summary

Sermon Clips

1) "Are you thankful for the God who sent Jesus? You gotta understand, Moses was a type of Jesus to deliver the people from slavery. Are you glad that God sent Jesus to deliver you from slavery, from a captivity that you could not get out of yourself? Wow. I mean, that's exactly what happened for people that not just grow up in church and not just gonna learn about God and kinda hang out around church, but people that cross, that decide in their heart, I am gonna live for God. I accept the Lord Jesus Christ as my savior." [02:50] (32 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

2) "God's got a process for you and for me that he takes us through. Come on. Is that true? I mean, if you've walked with God longer than five minutes, you know that's true. There are prayers that you and I pray to. There are desires that you and I have that are birthed in us by God. And we say, God, you want this for me? God, I'm desiring this, whatever it might be. There's a picture of your future. There's something that, you know, a freedom that, you know, that you're supposed to have. And God says, yep, that's for you. He confirms it in the Bible. Many beautiful promises in here. He says, that's for you. And then there's this process that he takes us through until we get just like the nation of Israel to the promised land." 3) "In the process, in the time between when you pray something, because you know God has it for you and you receive it, the promised land. In that process, be very careful what comes out of your mouth, what you're speaking about, what you're saying. I find it so interesting that the same problem the children of Israel had, complaining and grumbling against God is the same problem my children sometimes have, complaining and grumbling against me. And as I ponder that, God begins to shine the spotlight down onto my own heart. And it's the problem here as well. How do we combat that? We say, holy spirit, help me to speak the right thing." 4) "If my freedom from Egypt is like my freedom from sin, and their walking in the wilderness is like this process that God has me in, then their acquisition of the promised land is like my acquisition of the promises of God. Are you with me? That God. That there is land that God says that I can have. There are things that God has prepared for me to do, that I should walk in them. I'm quoting scripture, right? That there is a work that he started in me, that he's going to carry it forward to completion, right? That the days numbered for me were written in his book before one of them came to thee. Am I quoting the word of God?" [09:57] (49 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

5) "When God tells Joshua, I want you to go up into the promised land, and I want you to have good courage and do not be afraid and do not be dismayed because you're going to go in and you're going to accomplish the land. When God says that to Joshua, right, it's like God is saying that to you and to me to have courage and to have faith and don't be dismayed, because he's going to give us the land. Hallelujah. So we find ourselves in this story, and which is what we've been doing, because we feel like not. It's just a great bible story to find ourselves in. And when you read the Bible, find yourself in the story." [12:07] (32 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

6) "The way to conquer is to realize his delight is in you because of what Jesus has done. And all the sin in the world does not appeal you with me? Listen, listen. You can't keep your heart open to the work of the flesh and open to the spirit of God. At the same time, you close the spirit of God door to go and do something you know you're not supposed to do, to go and yell at somebody or gossip somebody or give into a temptation. You close the spirit door and you open the flesh door. I got a better idea. Just keep the flesh door or the spirit. Keep the spirit door open. Yeah, all the time. God, you delight in me. And it's because of Jesus that you delight in me." [19:43] (50 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

7) "The very fact that you want to see something changed. The very fact that you have a desire for something different is a confirmation from God that things are not as they're supposed to be. The very fact that there is a discomfort on the inside of your life, on the inside of your thinking, an unhappiness with the way things are, shows you that God wants something different for your life. Hallelujah. He wants you to be victorious in all things. Y'all with me, church?" [28:35] (38 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

8) "When God deals with your life, when God wants you to move from one place to another, he's going to put you in a process. And the process goes like this. Desire, discipline and delight. Okay. Desire, discipline, and delight. The desire is when God stirs something up on the inside and you're like, I don't want this to be the same. Just like we've been talking about something's gotta change. It's been long enough here. I'm wanting. I'm hoping. I'm needing something different. A desire begins to stir on the inside, and we can see that in verse four, all right, it says, delight yourself in the Lord, and he shall give you the desires of your heart. What a promise." 9) "The fight of faith is not for you to do it in your strength. Hallelujah. The fight of faith is God, if you delight in me, you're going to bring me into the land. And so, God, I choose to believe you delight in me. And the accusations come, nope, God, I'm choosing to believe that you delight in me. God, I can't do this myself. And all the methodologies of man come. No, God, I'm going to trust in you. I'm just going to do what I know to do out of the power that you've given me, right? This is the discipline. I'm going to keep my heart in the right place in that process. I'm not going to speak against God and his promises and his plans. I'm not going to complain in this process. God, help me by your spirit just to keep on walking, to keep on believing, to not doubt you, to commit my way to the Lord." [39:49] (61 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)
