Sermon Clips

The Apostle wants to give us an impression of the profundity of the change oh to become a Christian is a very profound thing oh to become a Christian is not a superficial thing it's not an easy thing it isn't something that happens on the surface it is the profoundest change that can ever take place in anybody's life and experience. [00:10:07]

Men by Nature untouched and unaffected by the gospel by the power of God in the gospel is in a state of Darkness he's in a state of ignorance take up the other comparison if you like the creation of the world man as he is by nature is exactly as the world was before God said let there be light. [00:15:29]

Life without Christ is chaos it's just chaotic now can I substantiate that statement well I suggest you that I can to start with it has no form whatsoever it has no shape there is no order there is no Arrangement about it and as you look at life today and as you read your newspapers and your books and your journals doesn't that shout at you. [00:32:19]

The result of knowing and believing on the Lord Jesus Christ is that chaos is replaced by order and what a wonderful thing this is order in thought I said that the man who's not a Christian is lacking in his knowledge in his ideas about life but when the Light of Christ comes a man's life becomes ordered and primarily in the matter of thought. [00:40:54]

The Christian is a man who sees himself as but a journeyman as a stranger a traveler a surgeoner in this life and in this world he realizes that he's a child of Eternity this isn't the only world he begins to know about another world the world about Will pit about which William pit was so ignorant the Christian knows about it. [00:42:29]

I know that I belong to a life and to a world that are unseen he once knew this world only he now knows about another his spiritual eyes have been opened he saw Christ from Heaven the world of spirit and of reality has been open to him this world he sees as a passing world and it is princes the king Kings the great ones of this world they come and go. [00:43:33]

The light that has shined out of Darkness he has had a knowledge of God in the face of Jesus Christ he is a man who says to himself the one thing that matters to me is my relationship to God men and women round and about me will all be soon dead as I shall be dead myself I care not that they laugh at me in the office tomorrow morning. [00:49:03]

The light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ has reduced the chaos to order the formless void waste has become a garden of the Lord a parad Paradise within his Central innermost being my dear friend is that your condition I can put it all in one question is the one big thing in your life at this moment your relationship to God. [00:52:43]

Once this light comes and gives a man knowledge of God he desires nothing else that is everything that is all and in Christ it is shining in this world tonight he came into it nearly 2,000 long years ago it shining in the babe of Bethlehem it's shining in the B at the age of 12 there in the temple it's shining in the young man who begins to preach at the age of 30. [00:52:43]

The Apostle says this is it this is what has happened to me it's the same God who acted like that who's acted in me and I am what I am because of God that God has done this to me well now then very well let us take this great conception this profound change which takes place in the soul and makes it Christian and let us try to measure it in terms of this picture. [00:10:07]

The Christian has a view of this world and its pump and its glory and its ceremony he sees it dying disappearing he knows that the boast of heraldry and the pump of power and all that beauty all that wealth there gave a wait Al like the inevitable all the Paths of Glory lead but to the Grave great in this world yes but it's coming to an end what then the Christian knows he seen through this world he seen Beyond this world he sees the Blessed hope the heaven of God awaiting him so his life becomes a purposeful life. [00:43:33]

The Christian is like Moses of whom we are told this that he preferred to suffer Affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season he's disciplined he's controlled he sees things for what they are he sees behind them he sees the principle involved so he disciplines he controls his life he's searching for Holiness and for cleanliness and Purity and at the center of it all he's enjoying a great peace he knows something about a peace of God that passes all understanding of which the world can never Rob him.
