#GodComesSearching
“When we go astray, when we start going back to the things of this world, God doesn't stay over there and say, I'm just gonna stay back here. And if they ever come back, I'll receive them. No. God comes looking for us. God comes searching for us, and God is drawing us unto himself. And if we will humble ourselves, he will receive us unto himself. But if we remain proud and we reject his call, he resists us.”

#HoseaLikeRedemption
“God paid a big price to rescue us. He took on flesh, lived a perfect life, and then died in our place. And yet, we are so often like Gomer, and we go astray. However, God, like a loving husband, is willing to show us grace, and he's willing to receive his back into his arms if we're willing to repent. You know, when we wander, he searches for us. He calls us back. If we're willing to humble ourselves and return to him, he receives us. Remember, God told Hosea to go looking for Gomer. Gomer didn't come back begging to be received back by Hosea. Hosea had to go looking for Gomer, and God does that so often.”

#FriendOrEnemy
“That's strong language. The person who desires to be a friend of this world, the person who loves the things of this world. This person is choosing to make themselves an enemy against God. That means they're they're fighting against God. They're fighting against what God stands for. They're acting like the devil, the archenemy of God. They're loving the things of the devil, not of the things of God. And see, there's no middle ground. We're either a friend of the friend of God or we're an enemy of God. We cannot be a friend of God and a friend of the world at the same time. We cannot be neutral. It is one or the other.”

#PassionForGod
“What gets us excited? What gets your heart beating? What is driving your life? Is it to to make money? Is it to advance in career? Is it become popular? Is it to feel accepted? What is it that's driving us? What is the passion of our life? Or is it a love for God? I just love him. I just wanna be around him. I just wanna spend time with him. That is what our desire should be.”

#WhatAreYouPassionateAbout
“Because you're taking your attention on the one who deserves it and placing all that desire, all that passion on other things. And God is saying, am worthy of worship. You are to love me. I've done everything for you. I've committed into a relationship with you, and yet you are more passionate about all these other things. And that's the truth that James is trying to get across here. Who or what are we passionate about? What gets us excited? What do we wake up thinking about? See, when God saved us, he called us to sanctification.”

#SavedToBeDifferent
“God calls and he calls and he calls desiring for us to return to him because he's such a faithful and loving god. See, god has saved us to make us different. He has saved us so that we may have a personal relationship with him. He's a jealous God, and he loves us with so much love and affection. He's rescued us from the mire of sin, and he set us on the rock of Jesus Christ and salvation. He's taken us out of the sewers, and he washed us up, and he cleansed us up, and he he's given us hope, and he's given us joy. And yet, despite everything that God has done for us, we return back to the old lovers.”

#ReturnFromWorldlyLust
“We return back to being friends with the things of this world. We desire those things which are against the character of God. We love the world. But despite our rejection of God, he's willing to forgive us and receive him us unto himself. How amazing is the love of God? Why would we ever want to go back to the filth of this world? Why would we ever want to walk in unrighteousness and god ungodliness? See, the passions of this world might give joy for a season, but they lead to pain and heartache and conflict and frustration as we saw with all the the wisdom of this world.”

#LeaveYourOldLovers
“You see, God is a a jealous God. He doesn't wanna share us with anyone else, just like I don't wanna share my wife with anyone else. When God saved us, he did so to change us, to transform the way that we live. We are to leave behind our old lovers, and we are to follow only after him. You know, would your wife be okay if when you got married, you you kept your old girlfriends?”
