Jesus sat on the mountainside, crowds pressing close. He told them not to worry about food or clothes. “Your Father knows what you need,” He said. Then came the command: “Seek first God’s kingdom.” The disciples’ sandals dug into the dirt as they leaned in. Birds overhead didn’t stockpile nests, yet the Father fed them. Jesus’ words cut through anxiety like a plow through hard soil. [42:13]
This isn’t about ignoring needs but reordering priorities. Jesus exposed how gentiles—those without covenant—chase temporary things. God’s children are called higher. When we seek His rule above all, provision follows. The King guarantees it.
What clutter fills your mental storage shed? What “building” have you stuffed with worries Jesus told you to release? Open your hands today. Where can you swap striving for trusting?
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
(Matthew 6:33, ESV)
Prayer: Ask God to reveal one earthly worry you’ve prioritized above His kingdom.
Challenge: Write down three things you’re tempted to seek first. Cross them out. Write “His kingdom” beside them.
A grandfather handed dollar bills to grandchildren reciting Scripture. “For we walk by faith,” his granddaughter declared, grinning. The ritual wasn’t bribery but discipleship—truth taking root through repetition and reward. Teddy, now a medical student, still carries those verses. [56:57]
God’s Word is seed. Plant it early, water it often, and watch faith grow. Jesus said the kingdom belongs to childlike hearts. Simple truths, repeated with love, build eternal foundations.
Who’s your “Teddy”? What verse could you share today with a young heart—or a weary soul needing childlike faith? Write it on a sticky note, text it, whisper it. Truth sticks when we make it tangible.
“I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”
(Psalm 119:11, ESV)
Prayer: Thank God for someone who taught you Scripture. Name them aloud.
Challenge: Teach one Bible verse to a child this week. Use a dollar bill as a bookmark if it helps.
A truck rumbled into a Zambian village, children piled in back singing. Pastor Sydney filmed the dust-clouded arrival—not just a vehicle, but a caravan of hope. VBS camps, orphanage visits, and local church partnerships turned barren fields into harvest grounds. [59:10]
Missions thrive when ordinary people say “yes.” Jesus didn’t call experts; He called followers. The disciples fed crowds with a boy’s lunch. Your “not enough” becomes His more than enough.
What excuses keep you from serving? “I’m not good with kids” or “I can’t organize”? Join hands with those who have different gifts. Fill the truck; God will steer it.
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
(Matthew 19:14, ESV)
Prayer: Confess one fear about serving. Ask for courage to show up anyway.
Challenge: Sign up for one VBS volunteer slot or donate supplies by Friday.
A man sat in a sterile office, hearing “stage four.” Cancer threatened, but faith roared louder. “Maintain it for twenty years,” he told the doctor. Survival wasn’t the goal—surrender was. [49:47]
Jesus faced death to secure life. His scars bought our healing, temporal and eternal. Suffering refocuses us: kingdoms fall; His throne stands. Every diagnosis is a microphone for “God can.”
What “uncurable” situation are you facing? Sickness, debt, a prodigal child? Write it down, then write Christ’s victory over it. Which page will you post on your mirror?
“He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’”
(2 Corinthians 12:9, ESV)
Prayer: Pray aloud: “Jesus, be King of my [name your struggle] today.”
Challenge: Write a prayer of surrender on a index card. Tape it to your fridge.
A woman, now 66, still remembers VBS at four—the flannelgraph Jesus, the punch, the prayer. Decades later, her testimony fuels missions. One seed, planted small, became an oak of faith. [01:04:16]
Jesus said heaven’s gates swing open for childlike hearts. VBS isn’t childcare; it’s discipleship. Eternal decisions happen over goldfish crackers and glue sticks.
Who’s your “four-year-old”? What simple act—handing a bracelet, sharing a story—could plant eternity in someone’s heart? Don’t underestimate small obediences.
“And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”
(Matthew 18:5, ESV)
Prayer: Ask God to bring one child’s face to mind. Intercede for them by name.
Challenge: Invite a child to your church’s VBS today. Text their parent now.
We believe God calls us to reorder our lives so his kingdom becomes our first pursuit. Scripture demands that we stop chasing material comfort and start seeking God and his righteousness as our chief aim. We confess how easily accumulated possessions and convenience crowd out gospel urgency, and we commit to redirecting our time, finances, and attention toward what lasts. We must make Christ king of our hearts not as a title but as the ruling reality that shapes every decision, relationship, and response to suffering.
We accept that genuine kingdom work begins in prayer. We ask God for a heart that truly wants his rule and for courage to live accordingly. We also recognize that living for the kingdom takes concrete acts: investing in children, supporting local pastors, and sending teams to carry the gospel into hard places. Children can and do respond to Christ. Investing in their formation through VBS and discipleship plants churches, multiplies obeyers, and changes futures.
We place a high value on missions done with local churches. Sending teams to partner with pastors, to feed and disciple children, and to equip leaders proves faithful stewardship of the gospel. Practical care for needs like food, transport, and tents opens listening hearts and creates long-term discipleship pathways. Prayer and ongoing support sustain this work and invite the church to participate in God’s global harvest.
We refuse to allow fear or illness to shrink our vision. Hard news can refine our priorities and sharpen evangelistic resolve. We will live expectantly, trusting God to work through weakness, and we will let our lives testify to the hope found in Christ. In every community where we serve we will pray, give, teach, and go so that many more might know Jesus, follow him, and belong to a local congregation that disciples them.
She said, well your your prostate's a little enlarged so I need to look at it. Long story short, stage four metastatic prostate cancer. She said it's medically considered uncurable. And you know what that did? You know what that did? It focused me. It's like God said, Garrus, I want you to get really, really serious about what you're doing for me and my kingdom here. I want you to make this the main focus of your life. How do I do it? Two ways, real quick. I seek first of all to make Christ the king of my heart.

But seek ye first the kingdom of god. I confess to you. He's talking here about our data that what the world seeks after. How many of y'all are like me and and and I I admit this wholeheartedly. How many of y'all have too much stuff? Am I right? How many of you I I Y'all probably there with me and some of you are probably a whole lot more than I am. But how many of you have to have a separate building from your house in the backyard? in the backyard? Know what I'm talking about? And if you're like me, that building in the backyard, you know what it does? It holds all the stuff that I don't want in my house.

It should bring great joy to your heart to see God doing things in other people. Amen? Amen. Amen. That's what the gospel is all about. So pray with me and spread the gospel here in your community. Work in VBS. Work in the youth ministry. Do all the things that you do. Teach Sunday school class. Whatever it is you do, be involved in it, but then pray pray for the gospel to go around the world. Amen?

So are you willing to say, father, I want you to be my king, and I am willing to allow you to do whatever you have to do. Whatever you have to do in me, in those around me, in my life, whatever you have to do father, help me to make you king of my life. You say, even if you have to hear a doctor say uncurable prostate cancer? Yeah. Even if that's what it takes. Second thing I do is this, very simple. I try to further his kingdom. That's what I love about this. I try to further his kingdom.
