Freedom comes with a price, and true freedom comes through believing that Jesus is the Son of God, that he died on the cross, and that he rose on the third day. Christ shed his blood for the forgiveness of mankind’s sin, and Christ rose to show the power of Almighty God over death. Liberty in Christ is not being held down by law as a way to earn salvation, but being obedient to Jesus because “all my love is in Jesus.”
The celebration of national freedom points higher, because even the freedom of The United States Of America is fragile without the Lord. Seeking first the kingdom of God gives the right order, because God says the rest will be added. Satan’s cage gets rattled when God’s people try to do something good, and that fight will not stop until Jesus returns. The battle is not meant to scare anybody, but to prepare hearts and minds for a life of fighting for freedom.
Galatians five says to “stand fast” in the liberty by which Christ has made his people free. Paul warns against getting tangled again in a yoke of bondage, because sin holds a person down and keeps God’s purpose from being fulfilled. The troublemakers who hinder obedience to the truth do not come from the Lord, and every person who brings destruction will bear his own judgment. Negative input creates negative output, and positive input creates positive output, so the circle around a believer matters.
Gossip shows how sin never affects only one person. One loose conversation can wound a couple, trouble a church, and stir up another whole circle of people. Liberty is not a chance to please the flesh, because Christ did not set anyone free so the same old life could keep ruling.
The flesh and the Spirit are contrary to one another. Paul names adultery, fornication, hatred, jealousy, wrath, drunkenness, and the like as works of the flesh, and he warns that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom. The Spirit bears love, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Satan comes like a lion, using phones, apps, lust, busyness, and distraction to pull God’s children away from prayer and Scripture. But failure is not the end. Confession, forgiveness, and another go belong to the soldier who keeps standing, keeps fighting, and refuses to retreat until Jesus returns.

Key Takeaways
- 1. Freedom lives in Christ’s blood. Christ’s liberty is not just relief from earthly fear, but deliverance from death itself. The cross shows the cost of forgiveness, and the empty grave shows that death does not get the last word. A believer who is secure in Christ can hold earthly life with a looser grip, because God has already prepared more than this world can offer. [05:54]
- 2. Liberty must not feed flesh. Grace removes the lie that salvation can be earned, but grace never gives permission for sin to keep ruling. Christ’s blood frees a person from bondage, not into a cleaner version of the same old slavery. Real liberty carries a new obedience, because love for Jesus becomes stronger than the appetite for self. [18:39]
- 3. The Spirit exposes the battle. Galatians does not leave the flesh vague or hidden. The works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit give evidence of what is actually leading a life. A person does not need to guess about spiritual direction when hatred, lust, wrath, peace, kindness, or self control are plainly showing what root is feeding the heart. [20:20]
- 4. Satan hunts through daily distractions. The enemy does not need to defeat God, because he has no power over God. Satan aims at what God loves, pulling people through lust, busyness, and neglect until prayer and Scripture get pushed aside. Daily readiness matters because an unguarded morning can leave a believer reaching for the sword after the cut has already landed. [26:53]
- 5. Defeat is not the ending. A lost battle is not the same thing as a lost war. Confession before Jesus, forgiveness, and a fresh start keep despair from becoming another trap. As long as breath remains, repentance remains open, and the call is still to stand back up and keep fighting.
