Bible Reading
John 15:15-16 “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”
[33:53]Hebrews 11:24-27 “By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward. By faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured as seeing him who is invisible.”
[43:12]Exodus 3:1-10 “Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. And the angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed. And Moses said, 'I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.' When the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, 'Moses, Moses!' And he said, 'Here I am.' Then he said, 'Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.' And he said, 'I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God. Then the LORD said, 'I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. And now, behold, the cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”
[47:45]Observation questions

Interpretation questions
- Jesus calls His disciples friends and shares with them what He received from the Father. What does this show about why believers should pass faith, wisdom, and ministry on to others? [38:33]
- Moses refused Egypt’s passing pleasures, yet Israel later longed for things connected to Egypt. Why can a person be physically removed from an old life while still being tempted to desire it in the heart? [58:31]
- God meets Moses after his failure and sends him back toward Egypt with a new purpose. How does this help explain the difference between returning to an old setting as a captive and returning as someone God can use? [52:26]
- Jesus appoints His people to bear fruit that remains. What kinds of lasting fruit might be seen when a believer’s life is rooted in Christ rather than built around comfort, recognition, or temporary success? [40:13]
Application questions
- Is there an “Egypt” in your life—a habit, relationship, entertainment, attitude, or pattern—that God is calling you to leave behind? What makes it difficult to fully let go of it? [01:01:51]
- Where have you noticed that your desires have changed since following Christ, even if some old habits have taken time to change? What is one practical step that could help your daily choices catch up with what God is doing in your heart? [45:49]
- Have you ever tried to solve a spiritual problem through your own strength, like Moses trying to act before he had encountered God’s direction? What did that reveal about your need to depend on God? [48:40]
- What would it look like for you to “come up” into a steadier walk with God rather than living from one spiritual high or low to the next? What rhythm of prayer, Scripture, worship, or fellowship could help you remain close to Him? [01:04:26]
- Is there an area you have kept outside God’s control—such as your future, finances, comfort, health, fears, relationships, or plans? What would honest surrender of that area look like this week? [01:12:24]
- Every believer is called to take part in God’s kingdom work. What excuse, fear, or feeling of inadequacy has held you back from serving or sharing your faith, and how does the Holy Spirit meet that limitation? [01:23:02]
