#GloryOverGold
“``Well, how how can that be? I mean, when you look at it, it's obvious that that's not going to be because glory is never about gold. Glory is about the presence of god in this place. And one day, in that second temple, the smaller plainer one, the one that the old men, wept over, walked Jesus of Nazareth. The glory of God in sandals. See, that former house had gold, didn't it? But the latter house, the latter house had god.”

#PlantedOnPurpose
“Did you catch that? Whom I have caused. The exiles thought Babylon was an accident. They thought that that it was a disaster, that it was a, you know, a wrong turn in the story. And god says to them right here in Jeremiah, no. I carried you there. I planted you there, And and you're not where you are by accident. You are where you are by assignment. And, beloved, if that's true of countries, of nations, and it's true of of congregations, it's true also of you and I.”

#PutDownRoots
“Now I want you to notice what God tells these planted people to do. He says to build houses. He says to plant gardens, to raise families. Guess what? When I read those things, those are not short term, instructions, are they? You don't plant a garden on Tuesday, or or plant a garden if you're leaving on Tuesday. A garden says, I'm going to be here for the harvest. So God is telling his people, stop living with one foot out the door. Stop waiting for for someday. Remember that someday is coming. Put your roots down today because God says, I intend to grow something here.”

#UnpackAndSettle
“Can I ask you a question, church? Are your bags still packed? Is your heart still by the door waiting? Because some of us treat church Honestly, some of us treat life like we're exiles waiting for a bus, watching, withholding, half here, half somewhere else. Officers in Salvation Army, we we became experts at that because as soon as some people, as soon as you got farewell orders, your mind went not where you were, but where you're going to be. You checked out early. Kids do that at the end of of spring. When summer's just around the corner, and they check out early. Half here, half somewhere else. So God's word to the exiles is also God's word to us. Unpack. Settle in. Plant something. Because he says, you are planted on purpose.”
