#GodPursuesUs
“``What is Paul saying? He's saying, man, when when no one was seeking god, god was like, hello. Here I am. And by the way, I'm giving you my son as a sacrifice that through his death and through the shedding of his blood, your sins may be forgiven, and you will receive eternal life. And God presented his son to us, to all of humanity when nobody was pursuing him, when nobody was seeking him. Right? It's God who pursues. It's God who seeks people. Even when we don't seek God, he is seeking you. Even when we don't pursue after God, God is pursuing after you. So salvation is never humanity climbing to God. Salvation is God coming to humanity time and time and time again, offering us mercy and grace and forgiveness.”

#IntroduceToJesus
“See, hopesters, do not put the pressure on yourself that you need to go out and save people. You can't save people. I can't save people. Don't put it on your shoulders that's your responsibility to go out and change people. You can't change people, and I can't change people. But what you and I can do is introduce people to the one who does save and to the one who does change lives, and his name is Jesus. And so that's all Philip does here. He doesn't argue with them. He doesn't debate them. He doesn't try to have the answer to all of his questions. He just says, man, let me just introduce you. Come and see.”

#EvangelismIsCompassion
“And but Nathaniel, man, he's skeptic. And that's okay, Hopestars, because when you and your excitement and your passion and your love for people and specifically those who are far from God who need to meet Jesus, man, if you go and reach out to them, they might be skeptical too. And it's okay. Don't get discouraged. You're gonna have skeptics in your family and in your neighborhood and in your work environment and in your circle of friends, but if you have the mind of Christ see, evangelism is not about preaching. Right? So many people, we think evangelism, and we think I gotta stand on the street corner and and yell hell and brimstone. That's not evangelism. Right? Evangelism is not preaching. Evangelism starts with compassion, that you have a heart like Jesus, and what breaks God's heart are those who are far from him.”

#SeekAndSaveTheLost
“And Jesus just told us a few minutes ago in the story of Zacchaeus why he came. He came to seek and to save the lost. And the same burning passion that God had for pursuing people as his disciples, We too should have that same compassion and burning desire to find people who are far from God. You know why? Because the problem with people who are far from God isn't that they vote differently than you. The problem isn't that they think differently than you, dress differently than you, entertain themselves differently than you, right, have different views on parenting or on marriage. The problem with lost people is that they don't know Jesus.”

#ComeAndSee
“how is Philip gonna respond to someone who's so negative, to someone who's kind of a skeptic, to someone who's like, I don't know about it? Philip teaches us. Nazareth can anything could come from Nazareth, and Philip simply said, come and see. Philip didn't argue. Philip didn't debate him. Philip didn't say, yeah, Nazareth. And he list all the beautiful things about Nazareth. Philip simply said, man, come and see. You don't believe me? Come check it out for yourself. You don't believe me? Just just come and see. I'll introduce you to the guy. He's right over here, Jesus.”

#GodAlwaysPursues
“Which means what? That Jesus pursues people just like his father. God pursues people. Jesus pursues people. And that's why we go back and listen to what the apostle Paul says in Romans chapter three. The apostle Paul knows this reality, this truth that God is the one who pursues people. It's not the other way around. Right? It says finding Philip, finding Zacchaeus, finding Adam and Eve and Moses and David and Saul. God is the one who pursues people even when people aren't pursuing him back.”

#PresenceOfJesusChanges
“What happened? Philip changed his evangelism approach? No. Philip just got Nathaniel in front of Jesus, and when you're in the presence of Jesus, it changes you. And then Nathaniel goes from, like, I don't think so to, you're my rabbi. In just a few short verses. Man, because god pursues people. God pursues those who are far from him because hope finds people because Jesus found us.”

#FoundToFindOthers
“Jesus finds Philip. What is Philip gonna do? Look what Philip does. Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. Philip found Nathaniel. Isn't that crazy, the progression? Right? Jesus found Philip, and now Philip found Nathaniel. Because Philip is a disciple of Jesus, and he had just witnessed Jesus. Jesus found me. Jesus is pursuing me. Now who do I know that needs to meet Jesus? And Philip goes, I'm gonna go find Nathaniel, and I'm gonna introduce Nathaniel to Jesus.”
