#ObedienceMatters
“``one thing about this passage is that it really talks about this aspect of obedience. And it's interesting because in this passage that we read, everything obeys God apart from apart from Jonah. The storm, the sailors, the fish, the king, the Ninevites, the vine, the womb, the east wind, everything obeys God apart from Jonah. And why is that? Right? God is in control of everything. Why would we think that we can we can run away from him? Obedience is so important in whatever we do. Right?”

#CalledWhenUnready
“One thing that I'll add is that no one is ready when Jesus calls. No one is ready. Usually, most people are not ready because there's always something else that's going on. You all have your life. You all have something else that you're doing. You have your plans, but the call of the Lord comes. What are you going to do? You read the bible, it's later the people who are not ready. From Abraham to Moses to Noah to Mary to the disciples, they were efficient, to Gideon, to Jeremiah, to Peter. He was killing Christians and the Lord called him. Amen. Don't expect to be ready. But just know that you have to be obedient when you receive the call. I think that's the key. Know that it's because God loves you. He wants to use you to accomplish his purpose. Right?”

#JonahPointsToJesus
“Jonah if you read the bible, Jonah actually is parallel to certain things that that Jesus did and the lord did. Right? There's the storm in the boat, and we know the passage in the bible where Jesus was in the passage in sorry, in the boat and he slept, and then they quieted the storm. There are three days. Jonah was the fish for three days and three nights and came out similar to Jesus. And also, Jonah was a messenger of mercy. He went ahead and, you know, he preached mercy and said, repent. Right? And they repented. So Jonah points to Jesus, who is, of course, the obedient son, the sovereign lord, the risen savior, and the merciful redeemer. Hallelujah.”

#ResistingGodsMercy
“Jonah was not happy about that. Right? Jonah was really not happy about that because he he wanted the Lord to do something else. Because he said, wow, God. These are the people who hate us so much, and now you spare them. How can you do that? Right? It's interesting how sometimes when we receive mercy, okay, you struggle to accept mercy for for Nineveh. This is the same Jonah who had just been gone through receiving God's mercy because he ran away from the Lord, and then he repented, and the Lord called him again, and he had just experienced it, but he did not want somebody else to experience it.”
