#NameTheWound
“``But reconciliation cannot happen until the wound is named. In our families and in our culture, We like to pretend, but Joseph said, no, you sold me. Only then can healing start. Now many of us have brothers and sisters we have not talked to for a very long time. Maybe because they disrespected cheated on us, maltreated us, or because of who takes care of mom. You cannot hear what you refuse to name. Joseph names it, and he weeps. The bible says his weeping was so loud that Egyptians headed. This strong prime minister broke down because forgiveness is not weak. Forgiveness is strong.”

#WhoIsYourCanaanite
“Joseph was rejected by his brothers but became their savior. The woman was rejected by Israel but becomes an example of faith for Israel. Mhmm. specializes in using rejected people to send their rejecters. As a person and as a Saint Georgian, I wanna ask us, who is your Canaanite woman? Who are the people you've labeled a dog, end quote? Is it the homeless that comes around begging? Is it the young woman who couldn't take care of that child? Is it the immigrants who do not speak good English? Is it that family member who never comes to church but shows up anytime he or she needs material or financial assistance? Jesus says, crumbs are enough to save.”

#FromPainToPurpose
“What? I mean, brothers and sisters. Who actually sent Joseph into Egypt? His brothers of God. His brothers, of course. His brothers. Joseph now has a new eyes. opened his eyes, and he could say, you sold me, sent me. reinterprets his pain, that pain was good, but that God was working even in the pain. this is the hardest theology because he does not say pain is from God. He says God can use what was meant to destroy you, to preserve others.”

#RedeemYourPain
“But before you save, you remember who you need to name. You sold me. What pain do you need to redeem? But God sent me ahead. What boundaries do you need to cross to kiss a brother or a sister or a friend, to give crumbs to a dog, end quote. Because at the end, we will all discover we are both Joseph and a woman. We are both the ones who need to forgive and the ones who need crown of mercy.”
