“And so here here's what following Jesus is. It is immersing yourself in the story of God. Because that's what a disciple is. It's someone who finds their identity in the gospel of Jesus. Well, how do we find our identity? Well, we have to immerse ourselves in the story where we realize that we are not the hero. And that's the good news of Jesus. Is it all of a sudden the pressure that you and I feel to be the hero of our stories is released.”

“which when translated as Peter. That's a beautiful moment. Man, I don't have time to dig into this, but, like, Jesus names Peter. He gives him a new identity. You're gonna be the rock. And how does John's gospel end? Like, it ends in Peter being a failure. Like, he denies Jesus, and Jesus restores him and sends him out. The beautiful thing about the gospel of Jesus is we are invited into an identity that we don't even we don't even fill the shoes of. Jesus looks at you, he sees the righteousness of Jesus when you find your identity in him.”

“To seek him that your heart's desire man, I just wanna be with Jesus because he is what my heart is craving. And so here here is, as we extrapolate down this ladder of what how do I follow Jesus? Guys, I think it's a continually asking the question of, what is the vision of the good life that I have? Like, like, the good life. If I could put that hashtag on anything in my life, what what would that be a picture of? And Jesus is inviting us to realize that the good life is found in him.”
