In a world saturated with data and conflicting opinions, it is easy to feel lost or anxious about whether you are on the right path. While information is plentiful, true guidance comes from a person who knows the destination and promises to lead you there. Jesus does not merely offer directions or a map; He presents Himself as the very path we are to walk. By focusing on Him rather than the storms of life, you can find a peace that surpasses the confusion of the world. Trusting His timing and purpose allows you to rest, knowing He has gone before you to make a way. [48:31]
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 ESV)
Reflection: When you look at the decisions facing you this week, are you searching for more data or are you seeking the guidance of the Shepherd?
Popular opinion often suggests that all paths lead to the same destination, yet there is a specific road that leads to life. Choosing the narrow gate might feel restrictive at first, but it actually opens up into an expansive field of God’s blessing and purpose. While the broad road is well-traveled and loud, it often leads to a sense of emptiness or destruction. Stepping through the gate of Christ changes how life looks from the inside out. It is not about following a set of boring rules, but about entering into a vibrant kingdom where the real party begins. [01:03:57]
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” (Matthew 7:13-14 ESV)
Reflection: What is one "popular opinion" or cultural trend you’ve been following that feels like it’s leading to exhaustion rather than life?
We live in an age where truth often feels flexible, shifting with trends, emotions, and social media algorithms. When truth is detached from reality, it ceases to liberate and instead begins to enslave us to our own anxieties. Jesus offers something fundamentally different because He does not just teach truth; He is the Truth. This means truth is not a distant concept to be debated, but a Person you can talk to at any moment. Walking closely with Him provides a cognitive and spiritual clarity that helps you discern what is real amidst a world of mad truths. [01:15:00]
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32 ESV)
Reflection: When you feel agitated by the claims of the world, how can you create space today to ask Jesus to reveal His truth to your heart?
Many people carry a polished image of perfection on the outside while their lives feel like they are falling apart behind the scenes. This gap is often fueled by shame, which makes us fear that being known will lead to rejection. However, gospel truth is designed to set you free rather than bind you in secrecy. There is a shame amnesty available in the kingdom of God, where you can bring your struggles into the light. By walking with brothers and sisters in a community of trust, you can move from isolation into true liberation. [01:19:45]
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. (James 5:16 ESV)
Reflection: Is there a "perfect image" you’ve been trying to maintain, and who is one trusted person you could share your real struggles with this week?
Discipleship is not a complicated graduation system or a heavy list of rules and regulations that are impossible to keep. It is the simple, ongoing invitation from Jesus to get up and follow Him on a journey. While religion often binds us with the weight of failure, the New Testament offers an inhabitation of God that transforms our daily existence. Jesus is not just a visitation for a Sunday morning; He is your very life. When He becomes your life, every area—from your relationships to your finances—begins to reflect His goodness and provision. [01:27:02]
For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. (Colossians 3:3-4 ESV)
Reflection: In what area of your life have you been trying to "keep the rules" on your own strength, and how might Jesus be inviting you to simply follow Him there instead?
The congregation is invited into a clear, uncompromising conviction: Jesus is the singular way to the Father, the embodied truth that anchors reality, and the source of abundant life that transforms despair into purpose. Drawing from John 14:6 and anchored in the New Testament contrast with the Old Testament system of rules, the address argues that religion’s checklist cannot reconcile the human heart with God; only following the person of Jesus restores true relationship. In a culture saturated with information, algorithms, and shifting ideologies, people become anxious and fragmented because they chase movable truths and curated images instead of a living guide. Jesus does not merely point out a route or offer moral principles; he claims identity as the way, which means discipleship is relational—walking with Christ and with fellow followers—rather than performance.
The talk names contemporary threats—social media’s narrowed worldview, the ideological parasites that paralyze thought, and the shame that silences confession—and issues a pastoral corrective: truth frees, and community heals. Vulnerability among brothers and sisters is framed as essential to living in the way and truth of Christ; the church should practise a “shame amnesty” where confidences are kept and discipleship carries restorative rather than judgmental power. The life Jesus offers is not a mere upgrade in lifestyle or a management tool for problems; it is an inhabitation of Christ as Lord, reshaping priorities, generosity, and identity. The invitation concludes with a call to follow—an immediate, communal response—urging those who are searching to enter the narrow gate that leads to the expansive, abundant life found only in Christ.
``I I don't know which way to go. And it's usually at that point you begin to realize that information and data is okay, but the best thing is when you have actual guidance from a person. A person who says, Glyn, I've got you. I know where you're going. Yet not the illegal one, not before the petrol station, after the petrol station. That's where you want to go. You wanna go that way. And we are definitely living in a day, an age like that where we we we overwhelmed by information, which is helpful, but guidance is better. Now here's the thing. Right? We are definitely living in a season and have been maybe for twenty or thirty years

where where where the the mantra is this, find your own truth. Find your own way. Find your own path. What works for you doesn't work for me, but that's okay. We'll just agree to disagree. And so what's happening is this, is that people are looking and people are searching, and and we're in a in a time and a day where people are are wondering, are are are trying to find the right path, and they're trying to find the right way and the right truth. And the problem is this, is we are actually, factually research backed that we are living in a more anxious day now than ever before in the history of humanity.

And in the bible, in the old testament, the old part of the bible, here's what happens, is is god's people had to follow a set of rules and regulations and laws. In other words, Andy, you have to do this, this, this, and this. And if you do that and you hold to it without breaking any of those rules, then you will find the way. But the problem is this. The problem is that way never really reconciled man with God. It was fundamentally flawed because none of us are able to keep the rules and the regulations that point the way to God.

And so Jesus steps into the middle of the picture. Jesus comes and Jesus says this. He he doesn't point the way. He doesn't say, I'm gonna give you directions. Go that way. He says, you know what? I am the way. He says, what I want you to do is I want you to to follow me. Follow me because I am the way. I am the one. I am God, and I will take you to God if you just follow me as the way.

Listen, church. Make no mistake. Christianity is exclusive. My barber was wrong recently when he says, well, Glyn, all roads lead to God. No. They don't. I gotta tell you that the God of other mainstream religions is not the God of the bible. You have to hear this church. The bible says that Jesus is the way, and it is a narrow road, and it is a narrow gate. But here's what's beautiful about this narrow road and narrow gate. The moment you walk down that narrow road and through the narrow gate, the narrow road, the path which is Jesus, and Jesus who the bible says is the gate and he's the door, the moment you step into that, you step into an expansive field.

It's an expansive field of God's blessing and his hand upon your life, and life begins to look different, which is why thousands of you in Audacious Church who become Christians over recent years, I stand on the door, you come up to me. Happened after the last service. Someone came up to me and said, you know, I was broken. I had addictions. I had all these challenges. I tried everything I could in counseling and self help and going to clinics, but it was only when Jesus. Jesus did it. Because he's the narrow road, and he's the narrow gate, which means, friends, get this, the party is not on this side of the gate. In the broad road, where everyone is partying, the party is when you get through the gate.

But he doesn't stop there. He also says, I am the truth. Wow. Now we have been living in a time when truth has felt flexible. Truth is up to everybody's own decision making. It feels flexible. Our our truth is dependent on who we follow. Truth is dependent on trend. Truth is dependent on ideology. Truth is dependent on on our emotions and and how we feel at any given moment in time. And the problem is this. Now get this. The problem with truth that is moving is that when truth moves, people get lost.

And so what's happening is this, friends, is all of a sudden we're running this way with this truth, and after a while, the feelings kick in or something else happens. And so we run over here with this truth and no read, no wonder the world is anxious. Yeah. Right. Of course, people are upset and worried and concerned and have anxiety going through the roof. It's because what's happened in this journey, friends, is we've taken our eye off the one who is the way and the one who is the truth, and now it's our emotions, it's ideology, it's popularity. All these sorts of things are starting to to lead us. And so the issue that we end up is we end up feeling lost.
