#GodsWordFirst
“``If you are not spending time in God's written word, You are not hearing the voice of God. Period. Oh no, my sister called me and said she had a word from the from the Lord for me. You are gonna really trust your sister more than you trust the word of God. Really? But, that's what we do, isn't it? Because you know why? It's easy to just listen to something somebody tells us, it takes work to get in the word of God and to study it.”

#OwnYourSpiritualGrowth
“And, let me say this. The reason most people don't get in the word of God, it has nothing to do with about not understanding it. It has nothing to do with educational level. Has nothing to do about access. You know what has everything to do with? You are lazy. You are lazy. And, you would rather cede the responsibility for your spiritual growth to somebody else. Well, I'm gonna come to the church on Sunday and let pastor Steve tell me what the word says. You're putting a whole lot of pressure on me by the way. The fact of the matter is, get in the word for yourself. That's how you follow Jesus. You get in his word,”

#StartFollowingJesus
“Are you following him? Are you doing like Gordon did when he first started? I I wanna follow, but I'm a little nervous. Because I don't know where this is gonna end or where this is going. See, I'm a go ahead and tell you this. If you're waiting for God to tell you where you're going, you'll never start following Jesus. If you wait, if you wait for God to say, come. And, I'll tell you a 100% everything that's going to happen and where it's gonna end, you'll never start the journey. You just start following. You just start following because he's God. Because he is the good shepherd. You can trust him with your life.”

#MakeTimeForJesus
“It's funny to me how people say they don't have time to pray, have plenty of time to do everything else. You have time to play the games on your phone. You have time to to to watch television. You have time to invest in all of your hobbies that you have. But, you don't have time to invest in your spiritual growth being with Jesus. Do you see church? There was nothing remarkable about Peter or John. Not nothing remark They were common uneducated who simply followed Jesus when he called them. And, their lives were forever changed.”

#HolyBoldness
“Are you following Jesus? Do you want to follow him? I'm telling you. You you want your life to have meaning? You want your life to take on a character that that you can't even even grasp right now? You you do you? Follow Jesus. Follow Follow him. Follow him. And, watch the Holy Spirit give you boldness. Watch God open his word to you, and you begin to just truly begin to see it in a whole another light. Watch obedience begin to happen. Not because you've reformed yourself, but because by God's grace he's beginning to work in your life, and you're changing, and God's using you in ways you never dreamed.”

#MakeLifeCount
“Do you want your life to count for something eternally? You know my greatest fear? To get to the end of my life, and have wasted it. To absolutely have wasted it. I preached two funerals this week. Two funerals. Both of those people, their life is gone. They can't do anything now to change anything. They can't do anything to, you know, we don't get a redo. Their life has been lived. And, I don't wanna get to the end of mine, and have all sorts of regret.”

#BoldnessFromTheSpirit
“You see, the boldness that Peter and John were demonstrating had nothing to do with some self help improvement plan that they had gone through to make themselves bold. It had everything to do with the fact that the Holy Spirit of God dwelt within them. Do you believe church, that the Holy Spirit dwells within you? Do you believe that, church? Then we should expect a holy boldness to just well up inside of us.”

#GodUsesTheOrdinary
“Who in here has felt unqualified to share the gospel? You're unqualified, you're uneducated. Pastor, I don't know my bible well enough to tell anybody about Jesus. I'm glad you said that because you know, we can do something about that. We can study our bible and we can learn. How many of you have ever felt people that they look down on me, how can I tell them about Christ because they see me as just a commoner? Friends, God does his best work through uneducated common everyday people. Look at the disciples. There wasn't a priest among them. They were fishermen. They were tax collectors. They were common everyday people.”
