#InnerGiant
“See, God, David, I should say, had trusted God with a giant that stood before him, and now he needed to trust God with the anger that boiled inside him. See, sometimes the most dangerous giant that we face are the one inside of us. You can win an argument, and you can lose a friend. You can be right about an offense, and you can be wrong about your response. You can know the Bible, and you can still speak words that cut people to their heart. And that's why we need more than willpower. We need the Holy Spirit of God.”

#LetGodHandleIt
“So David planned to destroy a household. God restrained David. He spared innocent lives, and he dealt justly with Nabal. David had no blood on his hands. He had no regret in his memory. He had no guilt in his conscience. It will always pay not to get in God's way. But we learn a greater lesson here. If you're tempted to fly off the handle, give God the handle and let God handle it. The Abigail's intervention reminds us of our need for a mediator. But David's sin rage was not the same as God's holy justice. Our sin against God is real.”

#JesusSaves
“We cannot be right with God by simply promising to do better. We need Jesus who died for our sins and rose again. So our first step is to say, Lord, the problem is me. The problem is in my heart. Don't let a fool determine whether you'll fly off the handle or not because uncontrolled anger lets somebody else's behavior govern your response. So the first question to ask, who's causing my anger? Second question to ask is, who is counseling my anger?”
