Now what we might see is that the the Old Testament allowed us to develop this discipline or this rhythm of learning when, where, and how to give and why to give so that our hearts would be rightly aligned with God, that we would give when he called, how he called, and that it would accomplish what he desired for us. The New Testament, takes us to a place of even greater generosity as it gives us an opportunity to examine our hearts and to give generously to the mission of God for the glory of God, both personal and communal.”
