1) "We can't meet the need. Which is something that's so interesting with God. Sometimes we only look at what we have and not what God has. We only look at what we can bring to the table and not what God can bring to the table. And so when it looks too big for us, sometimes that's like where God's like, all right, I'm ready to do my big work. Okay. So he says there's not enough food. Jesus says, okay, well, what else do we got? Andrew's like, hey, I found this kid. He's got like a few loaves of bread and some fish. That's all we've got. That's all we've got. I can't feed everybody, but it's what we have. And Jesus takes the bread and the loaves and multiplies it, prays over it, breaks it up, and it feeds the entire crowd."

2) "Jesus is teaching us that he can satisfy our heart. That he can fill us. But most of the people had never ever been full. Never ever. Think about that. Like we're about to celebrate Thanksgiving. And Halloween for those who celebrate that. Where you're going to be full of candy. As full as you've ever been. On Thanksgiving we will be as full. As full of turkey and dressing. And like sides. As you've ever been. So full that you're going to be like in a coma. A sleep coma. Food coma. You're going to fall asleep at some point that afternoon during football. Why? Because you've eaten until you're completely full. But most of us eat until we're full. Right? Normally. Our portions are pretty big. If it's not big enough and you go eat, you're like, okay, that wasn't big enough. And you go home and make yourself a sandwich. Because you're like wanting to be full. Imagine what it would feel like to never be full. You eat and you're always still hungry."

3) "Jesus says, you guys are looking for manna, for God to bring manna. You want me to feed you again because you're hungry. You have a longing. A physical longing for food. But what you need to understand is that the manna is me. The bread is me. I am the bread of life. And when he says this, he's taking God's divine name, Yahweh, and combining it with this idea of bread. He says, I am. I'm declaring that I am not just a person. I'm actually God. And I am also the bread of life. And if you come to me, I'm going to satisfy the deepest longing. I'm going to satisfy the deepest longing of your heart. You need to understand that what I have for you is greater than anything you can understand or even like fully comprehend. Because I'm bringing something that will satisfy you far more than food."

4) "Most of us are kind of like that. We think that we're going to be satisfied by things that ultimately will not nourish us or satisfy us. And Jesus is saying, I'm the one that can do that for you. I can satisfy the deepest longings of your heart. And you need to come and eat from me. So I don't know where you are today. You might be like going through a ton of stuff. Like there might be things in your life that you're trying to fill your heart with. You're trying to fill your life with experiences, other stuff. Ultimately, Jesus is the only one who can answer the questions that you're asking. That can fill the things that you're trying to fill your life with. Jesus is the bread of life. And if you don't hear anything else from me today, Jesus wants to satisfy your heart. He does. And he's inviting you in."

5) "They were ready to make him king. But not Lord. And there's a difference. They were ready to make him king. Yep, you can rule the nation. You can conquer Rome. You can take care of us and provide food for us. But we don't want you to be God. And we don't want you to be in our business. You see, being king is like out there fighting for us and doing the stuff for us and winning the war for us. But being Lord means you get to tell me what to do with my life. And most of us don't want God to do that. We're okay with God setting up a place where we'll flourish and we'll do well. But we're not really wanting him to get into our business."

6) "Really, it's Jesus plus nothing equals everything. We say, Jesus, you actually aren't a means to an end. You're not a means. Like if I follow you, then you'll give me what I really want, the true desire of my heart. Instead, we say, Jesus, you are the end. You're it. You're the means and the end. You're everything that my heart desires. That's what God wants. And that's why Jesus says what he says next. Look with me in verse 53. He says probably the most shocking thing he says up to this point. Okay. And it's shocking. Just listen to this. Jesus said to them, truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood, you will not have life in yourselves."

7) "Peter says, we have no other place to go but you. It's Jesus or nothing for us. We're not adding anything. There's no Jesus plus something. We have nowhere else to go. Because we believe that you are the Messiah. The holy one of God. And I wish and I pray that we'd be people just like that. We say, we have nowhere else to go other than Jesus. He's it. We can't find satisfaction in relationships more than Jesus. We can't find satisfaction in experiences more than Jesus. We can't find satisfaction in success or status more than Jesus. We will not settle for anything but the real thing. See, sometimes we settle for a crust of bread rather than the Christ. We'd rather have a meal than the Messiah. I just want to tell you, if you're looking for something that isn't Jesus, you're always going to be hungry."
