1. "Friends, it's very easy to become discontent where we are, isn't it? It's very easy. It's very easy for us to think that something different, whether it's a change in circumstances or a new job or moving to a new location or something new and fresh, a new car, a new boat, a new hobby, maybe even a new adventure, that that will be the answer to our problem. And that will make us happy. That will give us joy." [34:16] (36 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

2. "Can I tell you a secret? Friends, you'll never find happiness or contentment like that. You'll never find it like that. The Apostle Paul knew that. Friends, in fact, he had experienced that. We're going to see in our sermon this morning. And he wanted the Corinthians to know that. So here in our text today, he wants to try to keep them from making that same mistake by teaching them where true contentment comes from." 3. "The first key to contentment is to learn to be happy, learn to be content wherever God has called you. God has placed you where he has for a reason, for a purpose, and until and unless he moves you somewhere else, what Paul is saying here is, don't be discontent where you are. Learn to be content right there." [36:51] (28 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

4. "Don't always wish you were in a different situation. Don't always be longing for your circumstances to be different. Don't always wish for somebody else's calling. If only I had so-and-so's giftedness. If only I could sing like Brandon. If only I could speak like Billy Graham. If only my spouse was saved. If only I made more money. If only I was here. If only this. Friends, then God could use me. Then I could really serve the Lord. No! That's what Paul's talking against." [39:52] (41 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

5. "Friends, Laura, God has put you right where you are because that's where you need to be. God has put you right where you are. Because that's where he wants you. The apostle Paul had to learn this. You know, there was a time when the apostle Paul, um, actually several times, but the apostle Paul was put in prison and you know, Paul went on three different missionary journeys. Okay. Um, from city to city and place to place. And he was starting churches and sharing the gospel." [42:43] (43 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

6. "Friends, God's plan is so much bigger than ours. And we don't often understand why God has us somewhere, but he knows, and you can trust him in that. The apostle Paul had to learn that he'd been through a lot. Um, yet God had used him and had a purpose even in that circumstance. I want you to listen and look at with me on the screen. Look at what Paul says in Philippians chapter four." [44:21] (30 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)

Don't get it in your mind that a change of circumstances is going to make you happy. Okay. Don't get it in your mind. If this was different, if this was different, if I had a different job, if I had lived a different place, if I had a different, whatever, listen, don't get that in your mind, friends. If you're not happy now, don't look to outward circumstances for your you're not going to be happy then." [47:40] (29 seconds) (Download raw clip | Download cropped clip)
