"Anxiety is when there is something happening in your world that controls your emotions negatively. And that is because it seems like we have little or no control over that circumstance. It's telling us how to feel and when to feel it and how badly to feel it. But the key to having victory over anxiety is to understand when things are out of control and when you are out of control emotionally regarding them, God is still in control." [00:00:12]

"And when we recognize the sovereignty of God in the things that would cause anxiety and worry in us, that opens the door for us to experience this peace that passes understanding that God promises to provide His children who trust in Him. And one of the key ways to tap into that peace—one of the key ways to experience that calm in the midst of the emotional storms of life—is prayer." [00:00:50]

"Prayer taps into God's peace when the waves of anxiety are rolling over our well-being. And that's why I want to pray with you right now about the things in your life that may be causing you to be anxious and why you must pray specifically to God, taking your worries to Him." [00:01:13]

"When I am afraid, I put my trust in You, the psalmist said. When I trust in You, You exchange my fears for Your peace. I put on the shoes of peace by trusting in Your presence and power, knowing that it is my job to seek You in the midst of my fear and anxiety." [00:01:39]

"The psalmist said, I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. I also put on the shoes of peace by humbling myself. I recognize my inadequacy and my lack of control. Much of fear stems from a need for control, but ultimately I do not control anything." [00:02:01]

"Being anxious on an airplane does not keep it in the sky. Being fearful of ill health does not keep me healthy. Being afraid that my marriage or relationships will deteriorate does not keep them strong. This is because ultimate control is in Your hands, and no matter what happens, You use it for good when I love You." [00:02:16]

"Humility allows me to acknowledge that You know better than I do. As Scripture says, 'Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you.'" [00:02:43]
