Tribulations are not mere inconveniences; they are profound challenges that test our faith and can cause us to question God's goodness, power, and wisdom. However, these trials are designed by God to help us grow in faith and hope. The Apostle Paul, who endured significant suffering, teaches us to rejoice in our tribulations, as they produce perseverance, proven character, and ultimately, hope. Understanding that tribulations serve a divine purpose can transform our perspective, allowing us to see them as opportunities for spiritual growth rather than obstacles. [05:43]
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (ESV): "For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."
Reflection: Think of a current challenge you are facing. How can you view this situation as an opportunity for spiritual growth and deeper faith?
Day 2: Grace in Weakness
God's grace is sufficient, and His power is perfected in our weaknesses. This grace enables us to stand firm in our faith, even when human nature would lead us to despair. The Apostle Paul, through his own experiences, illustrates that God's grace is a sustaining force that empowers believers to endure hardships. By relying on God's grace, we can find strength in our weaknesses and remain steadfast in our faith journey. [08:33]
2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV): "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
Reflection: Identify an area of weakness in your life. How can you invite God's grace to transform this weakness into a source of strength and reliance on Him?
Day 3: Joy and Generosity in Affliction
The Macedonians exemplified grace by overflowing with joy and generosity despite their extreme affliction and deep poverty. Their story demonstrates that grace does not remove suffering but transforms it into an opportunity for abundant joy and liberality. This transformation is a testament to the power of God's grace, which enables believers to rise above their circumstances and exhibit Christ-like generosity and joy, even in the midst of trials. [11:20]
2 Corinthians 8:2-3 (ESV): "For in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord."
Reflection: Consider a way you can practice generosity today, even if you feel you have little to give. How can this act of giving bring joy to both you and others?
Day 4: Authentic Faith Through Trials
The process of enduring tribulations proves the authenticity of our faith, dispelling fears of hypocrisy and providing assurance of our salvation. Just as steel is tempered through heating and cooling, our faith is strengthened through the trials we endure. This refining process is essential for developing a faith that is genuine and resilient, capable of withstanding the challenges of life and emerging stronger and more assured. [17:15]
1 Peter 1:6-7 (ESV): "In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ."
Reflection: Reflect on a past trial that strengthened your faith. How did this experience help you grow in your relationship with God and provide assurance of your salvation?
Day 5: Assurance Through God's Love
The assurance of our faith is grounded in the experience of God's love poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. This experiential knowledge assures us of our genuine relationship with God and His unwavering presence in our lives. It is not merely intellectual understanding but a deep, personal encounter with God's love that provides the foundation for our faith and the confidence to face life's challenges with hope and assurance. [23:07]
Romans 5:5 (ESV): "And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."
Reflection: Spend time in prayer today, asking the Holy Spirit to fill your heart with God's love. How does experiencing His love personally assure you of His presence and strengthen your faith?

The process of enduring tribulations proves the authenticity of our faith, dispelling fears of hypocrisy and providing assurance of our salvation. Just as steel is tempered through heating and cooling, our faith is strengthened through the trials we endure. [00:16:02]

Tribulation brings about perseverance. You need to know that that's a truth. We see that when he says not only this but we exalt in our tribulations knowing you hear that word don't miss that word knowing something knowing something knowing the truth creates joy. [00:14:39]
The key to rejoicing when things go very badly in your life is Grace. Now let me give you an illustration of this. The most beautiful people in the New Testament that I know of aside from Jesus Christ my Lord are the Macedonians described in 2 Corinthians 8. [00:08:33]
Grace does not produce this miracle of exulting in Tribulation magically. Wave a wand, even pray a prayer, it happens. It doesn't do it magically. Grace does it through the truth. You will know the truth, Jesus said in John 8:32, and the truth will make you free. [00:13:18]
Tribulation yields perseverance, perseverance yields a sense of I made it through, my faith made it through, I didn't break, I'm real, and therefore hope abounds. I'm a Child of God, he's made me a child of God, grace has sustained me, my faith is rich. [00:20:05]
The hope that arises from a proven Faith, an authentic faith, will not disappoint us because God gives us the experience of his love in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. I'll read it to you, verse five, hope does not disappoint. It's not ever going to disappoint. [00:22:54]
The heart can always say, but how do I know? Doesn't matter what arguments you use, the heart can always say I don't know. So what's his answer? His answer is an experience of the love of God poured out in Your Heart by the Holy Spirit. [00:24:01]
If you're a Christian, you have at least in seed form that experience. You do, you do, but I don't think it's an all or nothing experience and can be much greater than it is for most of us. So there are two obstacles to assurance, and God wants you to have Assurance. [00:24:23]
