#GodlySorrow
“When we recognize that our sin has separated us from God, when we recognize the effects of that sin, there should be a sadness within us. There should be a godly sorrow. And what he says is, when you feel that way, that does not push you away from me. Remember, I'm gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in love. He wants us to draw near. When we feel those things, when we recognize the hurt that we've caused God, he reminds us to come back, to come near. And we see that story after story in the Bible when he invites us home and invites us to be in his closeness. And that godly sorrow is important.”

#BePresent
“And Steve said his dad looked at him and said, Steve, they won't remember anything I say today. They'll just remember that I was there. I just needed to be there. And it was impactful on Steve and Steve has been one of the best people I know and he has comforted people in a lot of situations that he learned from his dad. And we spent a lot of times and a lot of times I've been like Joy and I'm trying to cheer people up and I'm trying to do some things and really what we need to do is just sit there, listen, and be present.”
