### Summary
In today's sermon, we explored the profound message found in Matthew 14:27 and Isaiah 41:10, focusing on how Jesus responds to us during life's storms. We revisited the story of Peter and the disciples caught in a fierce storm, where Jesus' voice brought peace and courage. This narrative serves as a powerful reminder that Jesus, the "I Am," is always present and ready to answer us in our darkest moments. We all face storms—whether they are health crises, financial struggles, or broken relationships—that can leave us feeling lost and overwhelmed. However, Jesus' response to our cries for help is always one of reassurance and strength.
Reflecting on my personal experiences with literal storms, such as tornadoes, I drew parallels to the emotional and spiritual storms we face. These storms can bring fear, doubt, insecurity, panic, despair, confusion, and a host of other negative emotions. Yet, just as Jesus called Peter to walk on water amidst the storm, He calls us to step out in faith, even when the winds and waves seem insurmountable. Peter's initial boldness and subsequent fear illustrate our human tendency to falter when we take our eyes off Jesus. However, Jesus' immediate response to Peter's cry for help demonstrates His unwavering readiness to rescue us.
The storm speaks many negative things—fear, doubt, insecurity, panic, despair, confusion, disorientation, isolation, helplessness, vulnerability, frustration, discouragement, and loneliness. These voices can make the storm seem unbearable. But Jesus' voice cuts through the chaos, offering peace and courage. He tells us, "Take courage, it is I; don't be afraid," and reassures us with His presence and strength. As we conclude this series, let us remember that when the storm speaks, Jesus the "I Am" will answer.
