#MakeRoomForJesus
“``The lord created your heart to be his home, and you will not be at home until you allow him to take up residence in your heart. And any room of your heart that you've kind of walled off or locked him out of will be disordered, will lead you astray. Any place of your heart, any area of your life, your past, your present, your future that does not have access that Jesus does not allow it into, that's gonna be disordered until you open up and unlock that door and say, yeah, Lord, come and make your home in my heart. Every bit of it. All of it.”

#StopChasingGhosts
“All his ghosts. Right? My father treated like dirt. I was treated like dirt. It's not gonna happen to me. Not gonna happen to my kids. He thinks he can earn his way, perform his way, be the greatest showman, and that's gonna help him to quiet those demons that are nagging at him, gnawing at him. My friends, he keeps chasing after ghosts to fight demons, and ghosts can't fight demons. Vapors, things like accomplishment, performance, getting your name in big lights, not enough, never enough, never ever ever enough. Charity asked him, when's it gonna be enough? It's always a little bit more, isn't it? Always a little bit more, just like it's been for some of us in some seasons of our lives. So he leaves his family behind to tour around the country, trying to chase after enough. And enough, it turns out, is an ever moving finish line because it's never enough.”

#HomeIsntAlwaysSafe
“There's something powerful about home, isn't there? It just has this magnetic attractiveness to it. It's beautiful and wonderful. This idea that we could come back home after we've made all the mistakes, and there's people there who will love us. This is Hollywood's best answer for redemption, a redemptive turn. Right? To go back home. And it's not a bad turn. Right? It's like it's better than chasing cheers and more and more and more more. But let me ask you a question. It's kinda weird that home is the place that all Hollywood endings end in when home, for many of us, is a little bit of a mess or a total mess?”

#ChasingWrongDreams
“Barta just wants money and success and and applause, and he thinks that's what's gonna give him value and worth. But it turns out these are all the wrong dreams. So I gotta ask you again, have you ever dreamed the wrong dreams? Have you ever chased after something? And, again, it could just be a thing like a boat or a house or or a major purchase. Right? Hey. Hey, guys. The bigger this flat screen, the better. Amen? Am I right? Yes. Right? So we can get captivated by things or accomplishments or approval or even or even the perfect family. We can get captivated by all these dreams, and these dreams aren't always bad things. They're just not ultimate things. And sometimes it turns out the things that we're grasping for and striving for, they're the wrong things. So here's here's what I'm gonna approach you. Scripture and our experience teaches us this, that your dreams are not a reliable guide to the good life. Your dreams, your passions, your desires, not a reliable guide. Some of them are. Some of them are are things god's given you to do, but some of them will take you in the completely wrong direction. You know this. You see people around you chasing after chasing after more and more and more, and it's never gonna be enough. The scriptures and your own experience teaches you that your dreams, your passions, your hopes are not a reliable guide to the good life.”

#TurnYourHeartToGod
“instead, the Lord pleads with you this morning and me this morning, all the places that you're sort of chasing, chasing, chasing after other things. Instead, turn your heart to the Lord. Lift up your heart, your mind, your body, your spirit, your days, your priorities. Open up your heart and your mind to the Lord. Listen to him. Listen to him. Let him speak to you in those places where there's longings and there's hopes and there's dreams and unfulfilled dreams and disappointments. Let the lord meet you in those places, and then you will finally be satisfied. Those coarseal hungers god's put you put in your heart that he's wired you up with, those will finally be satisfied when you find that satisfaction in him.”

#WhenHomeHurts
“how many of you have pain from home or pain in your home? How many of you have baggage from your childhood home or pain and baggage in your current home? What do you do when home isn't a great place, wasn't a great place? What do you do if going back home has is fraught with all these broken relationships, all these strains, all these stresses, all these arguments that have not been resolved, all these conflicts that aren't healthy? What do you do if you shouldn't go back home because the people there are just not healthy for you, not good for you?”

#ServeToBeGreat
“Jesus doesn't say, don't want to be great. He says, you wanna be great? Great. You got all the wrong pictures of what that looks like. You wanna be great? Awesome. Completely get rid of your picture of what you think that looks like, and here's what it looks like instead. You wanna become great? You gotta serve. You wanna be first? Fantastic. Go be everyone's slave. That's how you get to great. In fact, it's the only way it's the only way you achieve eternal greatness because that's the path Jesus is gonna walk.”

#TrueGreatnessInChrist
“Jesus himself is gonna serve. He's gonna become a slave of all. He's gonna take on the sin of the whole world, your sin, my sin, all the way to the cross. And as a result of his faithfulness, as a result of his faithfulness, all the way to obeying god the father, all the way to death, even death on the cross, god the father raised him from the dead, and the scriptures say that he's enthroned on high as king of kings and lord of lords, and he will reign forever and ever and ever. Amen. At the end of all things, every every knee will bow, every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is lord to glory of god the father. That's true greatness. It can't be taken away because god's given it to you. That's real greatness. Real greatness is the greatness that god gives, not the thing that you kinda scrap and claw and try to make happen on your own. Real greatness comes through serving.”
