#UpstreamObedience
“``Don't miss this. This is so good. When they started preparing for the presence of God, the power of God started moving. They didn't see it. They just were do they were doing what they were told to do, and they they started preparing. They wouldn't see it until when? The moment they were obedient and they actually stepped into the water. When they stepped in the stream and watched the water run-in upstream and go, where did it go? That's what they asked. How many times will we see in scripture God's word this truth? What we experience downstream often begins with our obedience upstream.”

#TrustTheWayMaker
“And so it's interesting because remember with Moses and the Red Sea, we learned that God makes a way, and we just have to walk in it. Right? That's what we learned through that. And faith means that I have to walk in this way even though I might be a little scared about this path. But if I just walk in that path that God has created. But the Jordan River here teaches a us a different lesson about faith. It's kind of almost a deeper truth. Write it down. Faith doesn't wait for the way to appear. Faith trusts the God who makes a way.”

#EyesOnHisPresence
“And some of you might be here sitting this morning, and you're like, I'm glad I God's given me a second chance, a second choice. But honestly, because I messed up the first time, it's it feels like it's even going to be harder for the second time, maybe the fifth time, maybe the fiftieth time. And I'm not sure how I'm gonna pull it out. What's going to make the difference, Shane? Here's what might make the difference, and you might wanna write it down. Keep your eye on his presence, not your problem. Keep your eye on God's presence. That's the secret.”

#PresenceOverPerformance
“He didn't say anything like that, did he? What did he say to him? See what the promise was? He said, I'm gonna let my people know that I am with you as I was with Moses. Because you need to understand that Moses wasn't performing on his standard. He, Moses, was experiencing my presence as he did all of these things. Everything that he's remembered for is not about performance. It was actually about per or my my presence. And and Joshua, I'm gonna provide that same presence that I gave to Moses. Don't worry about it, Joshua. It's not about your performance. It's about my presence.”

#SecondChanceMercy
“Last time, you didn't step into something God was calling you in, and you stayed out of what he was calling you into because fear said, it's gonna be hard. And honestly, it's probably not gonna be worth it doing it. But I want you to hear me this morning. That was last time. And I hope you're encouraged this morning that that was last time. That was yesterday. Today, God says mercies are new every morning. And so it's good that we have a God, Yahweh, a God of second choice, second chances. The fact that god gives you a second chance doesn't necessarily me mean, and some of you know this, it's going to be an easier choice. Right?”

#ObedienceUnlocksMiracles
“Now I'm gonna tell you just stepping into the water before parts doesn't mean your socks aren't gonna get a little wet. It doesn't mean your shoes might get some mud on them. There's probably a good chance that's going to happen. When it's God's way, it's going to work even when we can't see it. And I can tell you that because some of you are here this morning today, and honestly, you're waiting on a miracle. You've been praying for a miracle. You've been praying for God to open a door. You've been praying for God to to get you out of something that you've been stuck in, and you've been praying for God to set you free from the prison of anxiety or fear or shame maybe, whatever it is. The miracle that you're waiting on, the miracle that you've been waiting on, your miracle might be, hear this, waiting on your obedience. Your miracle might be waiting on your obedience.”

#FocusOnPresenceNotProblems
“Because you know what they're not looking at while they're looking at the ark in the presence? You know what they're not focusing on when they're focusing in on the ark and how far it is and staying behind it? They're not looking at the city Jericho. They're not looking how big the walls are and how overwhelming that seems. You see, the threats are substantial or or more substantial than it was last time, but but now they're not looking at how big the problem is. They're looking at God's presence, how powerful God is.”

#MercyAsSecondChance
“Per see, sometimes the form that God's mercy takes, it's a second chance to get it right after you've gotten it wrong. And that's where they are right now. They're at the edge of the Jordan River, and on the other side of the Jordan River is the what? The promised land. And it's after forty years wandering in the wilderness, they've come to the edge of the land that God had promised them and that he wants to lead them into. And I realized what he's doing here is perhaps he's actually mercy giving them mercy, a kindness, another opportunity.”
