“So let me tell you something about soldiers also. They abandoned any other occupation that might interfere with their getting the job done. have to give some things up, brothers, if we're gonna get the job done. We can't do everything we used to do. We can't be everything we used to be, and we certainly can't be everything to everybody else. The Christian soldier, if he or she is to render good service, cannot be entangled with worldly affairs. The word of God says we are in the world but not of the world. We're gonna be down here till Jesus comes back if God allows it, but we can't get so entangled that we forget about who God is, what he has done for us, and what he should mean to us. And too often that is what we do. We lose our focus. Let me tell you something. Worldly affairs interfere with the obedience we owe to our heavenly commander.”

“Fathers who get it done know we must share in the suffering of Christ if we want to one day share in his glory. Just as simple as that. And as we try to get this job done, Satan is a relentless and fierce competitor. He's competing for our souls. Let me tell you, brothers. You think Satan wants you and me to be happy? He don't want us to be happy. He don't want us to have joy. He's gonna find some way to try to infiltrate our minds and make us think negatively. Just as simple as that. Make us think negatively. That's just what he does.”

“See, we can't plant something, though, and then put up a do not disturb sign on it and think the weeds ain't gonna try to bother it. We gotta understand that, brothers and sisters. We don't have to work to receive the gift of salvation, but we do have to work to receive certain blessings. Yes. Amen. And be prepared for the weeds. Be prepared for the weeds. We gotta also be prepared sometimes to tell our kids, our grandkids, our significant others, when we don't come through when we made a promise, well, maybe next time. Maybe next time, I'll do better. I'll try to do better. We want a paycheck, we got to go to work. Mhmm. You want a partner in life, you better show some love. Mhmm. You might get some back. I hate to say this, but some of us got need to get some game. Amen? Uh-huh. And I don't mean that in a slick way, but some of us, we just need to step it up sometimes. Amen? We got to be willing to step, and that takes effort.”

“But the key the key to all of this is, as we get it done, do we know who's helping us get it done? We can't do this without god. Can't do it without him. Might be someone here today that's out of the ark of safety who has never accepted Jesus Christ as their lord and savior. Might be one here that that that just wants prayer on this Father's Day. I want to come for prayer for a father or a surrogate father or a godfather or grandfather. Prayer cards are available to you if you raise your hand. They will bring them to you.”
