#EverySetbackIsAReset
“Friends, breaking isn't pressure defeating you. Sometimes you need to break open to grow. A seed does that. A seed is planted and it breaks open to grow. But you need to see it as a reset moment. You need to see it as an opportunity. All of these dead ends are opportunities to do a u tour turn, opportunities to take a different direction. Every setback is a reset. I said to my boys, my dad said, no pressure, no power. You put them together, and you get this. The setback was never the end of you, it was the making of you.”

#HappinessIsChoice
“He said this to me in one of the letters. He said, if my happiness depends on how you treat me, I'm limited. But if my happiness depends on how I treat you, I'm free. what he's saying here? He's saying, if my peace depends on you changing, apologizing, you actually getting what you deserve in life, then you still owe me. You owe me. Holding a grudge is like throwing the keys to your joy and saying to somebody else and saying, here, you drive.”

#OneMorningReset
“You are never one failure away from being finished. You are always one morning away from a reset. And you gotta believe that. You gotta believe that in some part of your heart that that, I can look back. I've lived long enough, and I think some of you have lived long enough that you know some of the setbacks in your life have been the making of the man or the woman you are today. You grew character in that moment. You saw what you were made of. You were tested in that moment, and you grew through it. That's a choice you make.”

#DependOnGreaterPower
“In the book of Lamentations, this man is reading in the literal rubble. He is writing these words and reminding himself, the bible never shames us for failing. The bible never shames us for crying. The bible never shames us for breaking or being human. Here's what we get wrong though. We think the goal is to be strong enough that we can handle the pressure. And Paul would say it's not that. The goal is to feel the pressure enough that you stop depending on your strength and you start depending on a greater power.”
