Falling in love with Jesus begins with the settled truth that Jesus loves people first. God’s love is unconditional, greater than any other love, and nothing can separate a soul from the love found in Christ Jesus. The cross proves that love was not cheap or pretty, but brutal, bloody, and fully given at Calvary.
The question is not whether Jesus loves. The question is whether people truly love Him. Deuteronomy calls for a complete love, with all the heart, all the soul, and all the might. Love that is real does not only say, “I love you,” when things are going good. Love stays when hearts are broken, when fear rises, when weariness crashes, and when life goes awry.
Love for Jesus brings thoughts into captivity to Christ and submits personal will to God’s will. Love says, “Nevertheless, not my will, but thy will be done.” Jesus becomes more than a name placed on a throne far away. Jesus becomes the One enthroned in the heart, tabernacled in the life, working in and through His people.
Andrew gives a picture of this kind of love. Andrew fell in love with a voice when John the Baptist pointed to the Lamb of God and Jesus called him to follow. The voice of God still calls through the Word, through prayer, and through the Spirit saying, “Come.” The voice calls deeper, calls higher, and calls weary souls out of the clutter of life.
Andrew also fell in love with a face. Prayer, humility, repentance, and seeking God’s face open the door to His presence, His glory, and the supernatural. God reveals Himself as He heals, delivers, saves, and fills lives with His Spirit. The call to repentance and baptism in the saving name of Jesus offers a soul the chance to bury its past and walk in new life.
Andrew finally fell in love with a vision and with the faith. Jesus called a fisherman away from catching fish to become a fisher of men. Love for Jesus must become a heartbeat for the lost, not mere busyness or religious activity. Jesus asks, “Lovest thou me?” and the answer is shown by taking hold of His heart for souls.

Key Takeaways
- 1. God’s love must become settled truth God’s love does not rise and fall with a person’s spiritual condition or present circumstance. Calvary stands as the permanent witness that Christ loved sinners while they were still far from Him. A soul that becomes persuaded of that love can stop living under condemnation and begin responding in faith. [49:34]
- 2. Love remains when circumstances turn hard Love for Jesus cannot be measured only by words sung, prayed, or spoken when life feels good. Complete love holds on when the heart is broken, when fear comes, and when personal plans fall apart. Love submits the will to God and refuses to let emotions become lord. [52:25]
- 3. Jesus still calls weary souls to come The voice of Jesus carries authority, command, and love all at once. Weariness may create noise, but it cannot cancel the call of the Master. The call to come is for the burdened, the hurting, and every soul needing His breath of life. [60:14]
- 4. Prayer opens the door to His face Prayer is not empty religious motion but the key that unlocks God’s presence and glory. Humility, repentance, and seeking His face make room for God to heal, deliver, and manifest Himself in human lives. A heart becomes a dwelling place for God when it yields fully to Him. [63:58]
- 5. Love for Jesus becomes love for souls Jesus connects Peter’s confession of love directly to feeding His lambs and sheep. A soul winner’s heart grows out of loving His voice, His face, His vision, and His truth. Love that stays inward has not yet fully taken hold of the heart of Jesus.
